| It has been almost a year and a half since Battleship Yanabayashi has been deployed in the Okayama system. Bolstering an increased defense, Yanabayashi is capable to stand it's own even in the most dire of situations. Since then it has been gathering information about the (then) newfound system.
| Although for the better part of the first 2 months since it's discovery, the system attracted various entities the "gold rush" has quickly dialed down. Nevertheless, as Battleship Shokaku was still present in the system, Yanabayashi was stationed on the opposite part of the system.
| Together with our scientists, we have studied in detail all the celestial bodies present in the system. Several areas have been deemed of interest.
| The system is split between two entities: The Northern side belong to the Pioneer Zoners. While the southern part belongs to The Ravagers. Neither of them have been seen active for the better part of a year.
| According to our scans, the Jump Hole connecting the system to Shikoku is slowly but steadily decaying. In a matter of weeks not even freighters would be able to pass through it.
Orders
| Safely return the samples from our Scientists on Yanabashi to Sendai. | Escort the freighters coming from Yanabayashi. | Escort the transfer of personnel from Sendai to Yanabayashi.
| Approximately two months ago, we have lost contact with battleship Yanabayashi and the remaning forces in the Okayama system. The sudden collapse of the jump hole, which happened 4 weeks quicker than estimated has left a small contingent of Scientists and their escorts stranded in Okayama.
| Fortunately, Hachiman has smiled upon them and they have yesterday returned to Chugoku. Battleship Yanabayashi has executed a hyperspace jump that brought them in Chugoku. Unfortunately, due to the heavy interference existent in Okayama, the ship overshot the destination in Chugoku with aprox. 235% of the original distance from the center of Chugoku.
| Two days ago, we have detected them on the Dragon's Claw Network farthest node. Ships have been sent towards its current position to help with eventual critical issues it might have had.
| Yanabayashi is currently moored at Mito where our engineers are performing maintenance tasks in order to make it battle ready in a timely manner.
| The expedition leader, Prof. Nerva Regis, decided that it would benefit us to leave a small team behind to perform maintenance on the hyperspace beacon should we need to return. The team has enough resources to live without resupplies for at least 5 months.
| As for the original inhabitants of the system, none of them have been observed after the collapse of the jump hole. Although, some of our scientists believe that they have caused the sudden collapse of the jump whole, all evidence presented is inconclusive.
| The repairs performed at Mito are closing to completion. Yanabayashi's stay at Mito had to be prolonged due to an unforeseen fault caused by its jumpdrive. The failure was only detected when performing a stress test on the cooling systems of the main reactor. Fortunately for our teams, they were quick to respond upon noticing the anomalous readings in the systems, and performed an emergency shut down of the main reactor.
| Yanabashi's will rejoins its brethren after spending more than 6 months in the Uncharted Kusari system, and 1 more month in the drydocks of Mito.
