It was an intresting event honestly. The lag was really bad but honestly if anyone expected something else... Remember Operation Royal Flush when we killed the Oubli. It crashed multiple times... and was almost unplayable. Still we had fun. Kudos to the staff for organizing this event. And finally closing the Gallic war chapter. (whatever the results may be at the end) It was a fitting end for it.
Fun event, lag and crashes were a bit of a pain but to be expected with these numbers in the same system.
If I could give the attackers a piece of advice, a lot of bats and shield batteries were left laying around, whenever my shield got damaged and I had to use my bats
I could usually immediately fill up again by simply beaming some up. Having someone dedicated to blowing up the nano's/shield bats laying around
probably would've netted you several more kills, at the very least on me
The event location looked beautiful, and it was great to see so many people online.
It really had this "Bretonia's darkest hour" vibe.
Too bad that the server can't handle these numbers (and probably in this magnitude, even the engine).
My loyal gamingmonster dutifully threw at least 70 fps at me but the rubberbanding and servercashing was quite insane.
I can imagine that someone with an average system would have been barely able to play.
Perhaps it would be a possibility to temporarily hire a more powerful server for the duration of these kind of events?
I'm sure that the community would be willing to chip in.
Anyway's was fun non the less, and beautiful eye candy!
The system was cool, effects were great, loved the visuals
But it was so heavily handed to Bretonia. I mean I get that it's a scripted event, but when the Bretonian side just gets to shoot at stationary objects while the Gallic side has to shoot through lag and teleporting SHFs that can regen after death, yea it isn't much fun. Pretty much the only thing the Royals could do to get reliable kills was to double nova their own cruisers hoping to grab whatever Brets were sitting still shooting at it
Then there was people on the Bret side planetdiving as soon as the cruisers were down and they had to suddenly face the challenge of real players
l event was cool with a super well done orbital bombing environment
Now the objectives were clearly simple for the allies to shoot at a target that did not move them And for Gallia it was almost impossible to reach a target with 15 frames per second with server problems and the allies were all in SHF. II have seen 5-6 snubs
