What is it about?
It's about a Discord server for Gallic Royal Enclave. The Enclave are a group of hardline Gallic royalists who have managed to dig in Edinburgh (Aquitaine), Roussillon, and Orkney (Brittany). They continue to fight Bretonians, Libertonians, Crayterians, and the eventual Gallic Republic, all the while trying to survive in a sector where most allies have turned on them. They also have places to land in Zurich, Newcastle, and California.

This Discord server is also the home of the \*/~ faction, formerly known as Escadron XXII.

Wait. doesn't \*/~ stand for Les Révélateurs battlegroup of the Royal Intelligence? What happened to them?
\*/~ used to stand only for Les Révélateurs, but now it's not entirely true. Les Révélateurs are a part of the larger remnant of Gallic forces stranded in Edinburgh. The \*/~ tag is now meant to include other parts of that remnant, not just Escadron XXII. We plan to change the faction write-up in the coming weeks to reflect that. There will probably be extended ranking structure (but not too complex), more room for various RPs, and other sub-groups with their own leadership, MOs and agendas.

Basically, \*/~ now stands for a community Royalists, not just Escadron XXII (which will still be in-game as before). We'd love it if you joined that community.

What about the existing \*/~ lore?
It is now the origin of one particular sub-group of the \*/~ tag. Some things from the lore will definitely come into play and affect Escadron XXII. But the point was to make the \*/~ tag more suitable for those who'd like to play as a more generic Gallic Royal Enclave officer (for example, ex-Navy).

Personally, I want to give \*/~ members as much room as possible in playing the Enclave the way they want. And, hopefully, make something great together.

Do I have to join \*/~ to be on that Discord server?
No, it's not a requirement. Even if you just want to fly with others as an indie, coordinate a raid, discuss something Enclave-related, or find people to make a story together, you can join the chat to coordinate with other Enclave players, \*/~ or indies alike. We'd like to make it Enclave Central eventually, but only time will tell if it works out.

If I actually do want to join \*/~ and help with reshaping the faction, how do I do it?
We'd appreciate the help! Feel free to PM me here or on Discord (it's in my forum profile). While we're reorganizing the faction, it's the best and quickest way. If you feel like fleshing out your character more, you're welcome to post in the old recruitment thread). For the time being (until we adjust the lore), it is not a requirement.

I'm looking forward seeing how the Enclave evolves. Friendly IRP intrigues and power struggles are definitely going to occur. So will PVP, and desperate attempts to keep the economy of the new mini-House afloat. There is room for all kinds of gameplay (fighting, raiding, smuggling, talks in space, forum stories, etc.).
