Q1 : I have a Bowex trader. I'm basically a booze runner between Rheinland and Bretonia.
-Are there any interesting in-RP routes that are also even more risky? PM me if you wish.
Q2 : I have a Freelancer character in a VHF. I haven't established how to play him. Are there any Freelancer groups around that would like help on an as-needed basis or otherwise loose affiliation? My PVP is rusty as hell, I might add..
I have an LR character, RP'd as a former RM pilot with a hate on for the Liberty Military-Industrial Commercial complex. Has a bomber and an HF. Which leads me to...
Q3 : What the hell did you do to bombers? Gah!
I have a Waran with a loadout consisting of 1 EMP Cannon, 3 Energy Cannons, hellfire missiles, a Civvy Supernova, and Train/Nuke mine combo. And a Carona Beam Cannon. Whatever that is...
But what are Scatterguns, Chainguns, bomb launchers? etc? What of this is actually useful?
As far as the state of the mod, with the end of the Gallic War, I'll leave you with a quote from "Cheers"

"Well, that's something you don't hear every day.."
A1: The most dangerous route is the most obvious one - the passage through Omega-3 and Omega-7. The low player count might not really help it in any way, though. There is no risk from environmental hazards or NPCs though since Discovery has opted for a sterile environment so lazy PvPer need to put extra effort into complaining about anything that makes getting a blue difficult.
A2: Your best bet as Freelancer is to just fly around where activity is. Almost nobody will hire you for anything nowadays, while a year ago, the SIS, Auxesia and other player factions were interested in hiring Freelancers for this and that.
A3: Bombers have been altered with the goal to not have them be a tool effective against everything anymore. Whether that is currently true is probably still controversial, but what they have now is a bigger variety of weaponry available. There is the Corona Beam Cannon, which is a weird gun, currently off-meta, as it fires a continuous beam right out of your nose. Then there are of course your generic snacs, the always reliable (if not in asteroid fields) Nova torpedo and the still controversial scatter guns, which are probably still considered the best bomber guns for fighting snubs. The bomb launchers are nice eye-candies but I've rarely seen anyone using them.
You probably do best by trying those guns out in Singleplayer to get the idea. They might have different power levels on the server because of a certain totally reliable plugin called balancemagic.
That being said, I've lost track about the latest changes of weapons on snubs since why would you even fly a snub when the best way to upset snub people is to use capitals.

In RP and makes a boatload of money and risky? Gold ore from Dublin (Usually a PoB to buy it from for 2000 each, sells for like 9000-10.000 on New Berlin) and Aluminium ore back from Munich (There's a PoB that sells them for 3000 each, sells for 10.000 in New London, one of the NPC trade stations). Depending on the transport, it's up to 15.000.000 to fill up, and people are always looking for an ore hauler to catch in the Omegas

If you have a hate-boner for big capital ships, find yourself an ASURAS. It's the SNAC but EMP, will deshield light gunboat shields instantly, and if youre good and patient, can deshield a battleship solo and nova them for their troubles
The Corona beam was a god-tier hitscan (30.000ms speed iirc) bomber weapon which was so good we actually had to implement a new plugin to make it not a fighter instakill beam but still useable against caps. It's useless now, with 600 range and nerfed damage, putting you just in range to get murdered by any capital for your efforts.
Scatterguns were big boy DPS guns that were top tier against capitals, but on lighter bombers, were capable of shitting on fighters, and after some complaints, theyre now useless against fighters and capitals because they have 150m range, which is so laughably short. Devs were shilling for a while they were still stupid strong against fighters but I've yet to see anyone have Scatterguns equipped besides people who didn't know it was changed or what they are now.
Chainguns are low(er) energy cost hull busters for the bomber, 750ms speed, 750m range, shoots straight like any fighter weapon, but the ammo is somewhat costly. They do half (technically 1/4) damage to shields so it's not that great against fighters but if youre fighting a much heavier bomber you can delete their hull with your high damage/refire/speed ammo gun. You get 2000 ammo per gun equipped (including those back mounted guns) but they're not especially good as your primary weapons. Two light bombers with ASURAS and full chainguns will do terrible, terrible things to gunboats.
The Scorcher bomber is a force-orient (shoots where your ship is pointed, more or less) hull buster that, on a full core dump for a heavy bomber like a Waran, does about 400,000 hull damage (when firing 2 scorchers at a time). It's short range (600m), so you need to be suicidal or particularly good at bombers to put that BIG MEATY DAMAGE out on capital ships. The Neutralizer is the EMP version of that.
Scorchers make bigger capitals VERY sad when they have more than one target/are distracted by another capital, and will give transport pilots vietnam flashbacks. My usual bomber loadout is ASURAS/Nova/Scorchers with the EMP cannons on my leftover slots.
Also the SNAC doesn't instakill fighters or bombers anymore. Deals full damage to Super Heavy Fighters (e.g werewolf) and bigger still. Not sure about Freighters, i think they also eat the full damage
