Claire.
I have a task of utmost importance for you. If you have been keeping the track of the news understanding the essence of it will be easy for you. I can not imagine everything said there to be a plain lie, but rather - the opposite, which only leads me to one conclusion - the reason why Coalition avoided the confrontation with Bretonian monarchy in the Omegas is because both sides have been adhering to some sort of treaty we have been unaware of. This could not have been avoided, so do not give this particular fact too much thought, it is a waste to ponder about it.
What matters now is to define the stance of this new self-proclaimed leader and the power he holds over the Coalition's People and Military: you would not imagine him to acquire full support right after he emerged from nothing, and their external policies may differ drastically from the now scattered former leadership of the Coalition.
I would like you to start your investigation with contacting Volgograd Industrial - i do hope they have not perished in this turmoil and The Guild in the face of you, Claire, have had the most contact with them in the foreseeable past, which is why i wish to entrust you with this matter. Do not stir up any conflict and pull back should you feel we are trying to bite more than we can chew.
My schedule in the upcoming days will be quite tight due to the prisoners exchange on Holman and the operation to remove the Outcasts menace from Coronado, both of which i will be overseeing and coordinating personally from the Guild's side. However, i will make sure to make some time to read the updates you will be regularly presenting to me as you progress with your investigation.
I am counting on you, and apologise for burdening you with additional work to attend.

I have not really been interested in the Bretonian news, only as much as I have to for my job. Their... "stories" are not really appreciated in my culture.
But I have read what you provided me with. While it is based on what appears to be true facts, it is of course very much written from a Bretonian point of view.
I'll contact miss Romanov about this matter, but allow me to share with you what I know allready. Since I have cooperated closely with Volgograd Industrial,
I have been granted access to Iskra Outpost in Omega-2, where it was easy to read up on everything that has happened in Omega-52 and beyond.
It appears that there have been some events in their government, mostly involving their former Premier, Mehmed Selim.
It seems he went missing, and a "comissariat" was tasked to locate him. Which appearently, they did. He was found in Bretonia, and due to that, he was exiled from the Coalition.
I don't know why he ended there, or what exactly happened in their investigation. Neither I can really confirm what I am telling you here.
The Coalition is not really known for their free press, so I'd assume it is just as manipulative as the Bretonian version.
I will try to find out more, and keep you updated on my progress.
In the meantime, I will send you an copy of the Coalition's newspapers, where I have most of my current informations from.

Claire.
Since i have already addressed you by your name and allowed myself a less formal approach - you may skip the formalities as well. It is not that much of a big deal anyway.
I believe there are some statements that we may as well ignore in putting together the picture of the developments within the Coalition - those related to the internal and external politics of the involved entities, those are disguising the bare truth we are looking for. Former premier Selim could have been deposed for his connections to Bretonia that have, by an extent of his position, have expanded to the Coalition as a whole. There is an evidence to this: The Coalition have never interfered with the events in the Omegas that would have normally concerned them, especially the annexation of Omega-49 and previously neutral world of Gran Canaria. Something valuable was promised to them to keep their guns silent as Bretonia satisfies their amibitions and assimilates the neighboring stellar systems.
That may have caused internal unrest within the Coalition that have led to a coup spearheaded by some influential leader that could have gathered a sufficient force under his banner to even make such a turn of events possible.
It is necessary for us to include additional variatives into putting the picture of those events together.
I just hope they have not fallen deaf on their ears and mute on their tongues.

I bid you good evening, Claire, and hope this message finds you well.
I dare to say that today, The Guild is enjoying an unparalleled amount of stability it haven't seen over the past months.
The turmoil with Bretonia is over, the northern Taus have fallen quiet, the Enclave is still not making it's move and our assets in Omegas are relatively secure for the moment. That said, you have done tremendous job prior to my ascension, and have continued to do so after, showing outstsanding, commendable dedication to the opportunistic ideals of the Guild and large-scale professionalism with the authority i have granted you with the position of Chief of Logistics.
Admittedly - i feel ashamed. Ashamed that i could only do so much to honor your selfless, tremendous efforts that are a pinnacle of what an exemplary Guildsman should strive to be: a dedicated opportunist, finding balance between respecting the Guild's values and personal wealth. Or, at least, that is what i believe you are.
But i am contacting you not to simply verbally praise and appreciate your dedication.
In the coming days i will be returning to Omegas from Coronado, and will make a stop on Cambridge to visit one of the finest Bretonian restaurant establishments to date, and i would like you to accompany me. I understand that it might not meet your expectations as Gallic noble, but they are, along with the finest Bretonian cuisine, properly serving one particular drink i always wanted you to try.
Would you honor my little voyage with your presence?

it feels nice to finally hear something good about us. Sadly, I think we are far from done within both the Taus and the Omegas. The recent battles I had to fight there proved that.
But you are right. With Bretonia no longer being a nuisance, we are having our safest time since a few years.
Your commendations honor me. I'm not sure if I deserve all of them. Or any. It's been troubling times, and we did what had to be done to ensure our survival.
I accept your invitation. We have a lot to talk about. Honestly, I don't feel comfortable anywhere near Armed Froces or Bertonian Police, neither I like their food or drinks.
But I believe you know what you're doing.
I still have a few things to do here, but I will be on my way shortly. See you there, guildmistress.
