How long did you think you could do this to us?
I'm genuinely curious, because from where we stand it sure as hell seems like you've taken us for granted. It was bad enough when you backed out of the conflict in Bering, leaving us out of your negotiations with the Separatists who continued to hunt and pay for our heads. And now I find out that you're backing some offshoots from Malta? Literal scum, in our House, with your support. Add to that your flirtations with DSE, letting them exploit resources that belong in our hands. Not to be bled dry by the same fools responsible for half the mess we're in.
You've got two choices now, dump these freaks and the suits that break our backs or we will stop recognizing your Government as legitimate. We will not be treated like chopped liver by a bunch of bureaucrats for a second time in a row.
We aren't your lackeys, we will not be reduced to a side-show while you play your games of nation building. And we will most certainly not be an accessory to the Commonwealth's recent trend of greed and inadequacy.
If you won't represent us and what we stand for - then you won't have our respect.

Our recognition of this Government is hereby withdrawn.
You should have known better given our history of having languished under the Republic of Liberty's entrepreneurial ruthlessness. Maybe you thought you could bury your heads in the sand and that eventually all this neglect would motivate us to neglect our own principles. In the end it doesn't really matter, we would vastly prefer associating with the Free Republic rather than whatever the Commonwealth pretends to be.
The Legion may consider itself exempt from the consequences of this betrayal of trust, given that they are only the military arm serving the whims of an evidently incompetent Government and not the deciding authority or catalyst of such astounding lapses in judgement. I wish you the best of luck in preserving your public image given the cessation of our efforts in regards to acquiring public support for your regime.
To: 'Cobra' From: Secretary Elton McKenna, Guadalajara, Vespucci System Subject: Allegations
The interests of the Commonwealth demanded that this matter be taken into consideration. Time is a fickle mistress, Cobra, don't doubt that, but you appear to have a rather short allotment of patience, so perhaps the support of the Alliance under your leadership is not the best for the Commonwealth.
I'll remind you, Cobra, that the benefits of this relationship go both ways, and while pulling your recognition from the Commonwealth, however much you can, may tarnish our efforts, I'm sure the dramatic lack of funding for your movement will be enough of a drive to reassure you why this relationship worked for so long. Should your movement also plan to go forward with this, I'm sure the Legion would also want to ensure that Commonwealth technology remains in trustworthy hands.
I would rethink what this means to the Xenos, Cobra. Out of a sense of respect, we've agreed to delay our response to your rash decision until you've had a chance to change your mind. Rethink what this could do to your followers, then get back to us. Otherwise, I'm sure the Legion can take care of anything that comes up.
Don't bite the hand that feeds. Even an animal can understand that, let alone a human being.

I gave you two choices. Drop the freaks and suited pigs or we pull our recognition.
And benefits? Please. You never came through with the full extent of the arrangement between us. You supplied us with a mean series of a fighter but never delivered the additional variant that was promised nor the provision of gunships.
Funding? What funding? The Xenos have at no point relied on your chump change to survive or function. It's a movement that expanded well enough without your alleged provisions. We don't need your money, I've been smart enough to put in place a well sustained set of 'economic policies' of my own.
Your technology? You mean my ship and the ships and equipment that rightfully belongs to the Alliance. You want it all back? Come and get it. We'll be keeping what's ours. And if you think that you can just run over us and dictate how this relationship is going to work. Then you've got another thing coming.
This cause predates your sham Government. We didn't need you when we first pulled ourselves out from under Liberty's thumb. And we don't need your pity now. We did not come all this way, spill all this blood, just to replace ruthless masters for neglectful ones.
If the Legion wants to start trying to rough up my men, then it's going to end badly for you and not for us. So keep your lackeys on a short string, otherwise I'll hang you from it.
