History:
1st Black Squadron is currently ceremonial unit within The Order retained due to its immense historical significance. Originally a Liberty Navy unit (32rd Fighter) assigned to Rear Admiral Johnathan Pryde’s flagship, The Nevada with its traditions and livery moved over to The Order. It was distinguished as specialized in long range operations, mainly utilized in charting unexplored border worlds and in the hypothetical possibility of war against another House: Striking enemy positions behind established frontlines. Together with Dawnbreakers and Black Roses, remaining surviving ships of the battlegroup formed the backbone of The Order in the Border Worlds.
Following Pryde’s swearing of allegiance to The Order, Black Squadron took part in overarching resistance to stall Rheinland Military’s advances in the Independent and Border Worlds. Most notable engagement of the squadron since its successful escape from Liberty is 801 A.S. Purge of Sigma 13 also known as Second Battle of Yanagi where GMG, Blood Dragons and the Bundschuh assaulted weakened Military assets routed from Kusari after their leadership was effectively beheaded with death of the Chancellor. Admiral Pryde and Black Squadron were not involved in Omicron theatre, opting instead to operate within heart of Liberty hunting down remnants of The Order of Cincinnati believed to still be infected and/or turned their backs on Orillion’s Order and/or House of Liberty.
Pryde arrived in Omicrons only when Casper Orillion had vanished (802 A.S.) creating a power vacuum and established himself as supreme commander of combined forces of The Order across Sirius. From now on, Black Squadron aggressively recruited like minded agents and became less an actual naval unit and more of a political and lobby group, renamed “The Order Primary Fleet” or simply: The Black Fleet due to its sheer size in year 814. Pryde titled himself a Grand Admiral - with his every successor to date following suit.
Its flight roster includes every member of the High Command in active service, with its nominal Squadron Leader being acting Grand Admiral himself.
