"La Liberté" - Republique News NetworkTALK-SHOW:"Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité".
"Bonjour, Mesdames et Messieurs.
My name is Martin Leroy, I am a former member of The Council, and now - citizen of the Republic of Gallia. Our "La Liberté" channel has been transformed from its old look to the new, thereby allowing us to formally and legally cover all the important news in the Gallic Republic. Together with news coverage, we will conduct talk shows with various political figures of the Republic and other states of the Confederation, as well as invite spectators to our studio.
Today's broadcast is a talk show with the new Prime Minister of the Republic - Jacques Bernard. Known in the narrow circles of The Council, this person has become one of the key figures of the Republic, which causes the civilian population many questions that we would like to receive answers to. We invited Jacques to our studio, and he gladly accepted our invitation, indicating that he really has something to tell. Jacques, bonjour."
"Bonjour, Martin. I am really glad that the civilian population of the Republic is interested in the political life of our state. As a rule, a high political culture always creates the conditions for the formation of a better government. And when I found out that the media would like to speak openly with me, I had to change plans."
"In your reply, you said that you would share a maximum of information with the civilian population of the Republic. As you emphasized, the Republic will soon have a constitution, which allows regulating law and law in the territories of the Republic. However, before we begin, could you tell us a little about yourself? There are heated discussions about you on the Republic’s Internet networks and, frankly, opinions are divided. Some consider you to be the person of the word who is ready to lead the Republic forward, without violating the traditions of The Council. Others are confident that your policy will be destructive, because nothing is known about you, which means that you can expect anything."
"Well, frankly, such a concern is justified and there is a place to be until I provide evidence that I really benefit the Republic. You see, I’m used to learning from my mistakes, and I realized that trust is a resource that you can’t just spend. It is in my interests to earn as much of this resource as possible, not by word.
Now, to the subject of your question. As you already know, my name is Jacques Bernard. I am 39 years old, and I was born on the planet Marne, in the family of a mother doctor and military father. At that time, I had an older brother, Maximilian, and about 3 years after my birth, François appeared in the family. If Maximilian and Francois were inspired by the actions of his father, then I believed that the work of the mother is more respected.
However, my interest in my mother’s work did not give me the desire to become a doctor. At 16, I became interested in politics, began to find out what the “Council” is and what the “Kingdom of Gallia" is. At the age of 18 years I entered the Higher Educational Institution, aimed at political science. After 5 years of studying, I received a diploma and continued my political self-development. For all the time of this studying, I realized that The Council, having committed a revolution, would not be ready for great political action. Of course, such awareness disappeared as soon as we approached this revolution: the joint development of a constitution began, to which I contributed.
At the age of 35 years, I was already one of the famous political figures in narrow circles. I never wanted to publish my actions or tell everyone about how important our work is. Nevertheless, I had enough experience and regarded myself as a person ready for politics. At the same time, I became part of the "Voice of The Council" political party, which consecrated various successes and failures in The Council, and also held meetings with political figures. Most of the party members subsequently became part of the Gallic Republic government.
At 38 years old, literally before the revolution, I reviewed the entire constitution of the future Republic, finding significant disadvantages in it, just like in the government of The Council. In other words, my faith in the bright future of The Council after the revolution was destroyed by my own understanding of the situation. I had to revise the first version of the constitution, making appropriate corrections. As soon as the revolution was accomplished, and Gallia became the Confederation, a politician was required for the post of prime minister, which I became. At that moment I was 39 years old. Just a few weeks later, your news network call me to the studio."
"This is pretty informative, Jacques. Nevertheless, it is worth emphasizing that after so much time you are once again somewhere "away" from political events. Gallia became a Confederation, and a list of laws has recently appeared that do not satisfy the interests of the Republic. As before, the eyes of civilians are turned to the government. How would you comment on the new list of laws?"
"In simple words? Old Royal Laws in a new bottle. The restriction of trade with civilian corporations of the Sirius Houses, which will only lead to a decline in the economy, is not beneficial for the Republic. Entering them in the list of undesirable organizations is not a good idea, especially against the background of Interspace activity in the Confederation. I am already silent about the extraction of ore, which is banal prohibited for all non-Gallic corporations. However, it’s worth making an amendment, since I believe that ore mining should indeed be licensed for those who require this license. I am sure that the Parisian Assembly will act wisely, establishing relations with other mining corporations in the near future, thereby creating conditions for export to Sirius."
"But I believe that the constitution of the Republic will create these conditions, right?"
"Yes it is. The Constitution of the Republic will determine the form of government of the Republic, its territorial structure and organization of the state apparatus. Of course, the initial form of the constitution may seem depressing, but I am ready to assure that the constitution will be able to create conditions for free and legal trade in our space. In addition, we plan to add some laws on the creation of political parties so that any movement in the Republic has the right to exist if this movement is legalized. This will create conditions for the further development of the political culture of our state. We want to hear our people, and not reject them, doing as erroneously as the Royal Government did many years ago, rejecting the people of the future Council."
"And at the same time, what do you think: will it be possible to adjust your laws to the new laws of the Confederation? In addition, are your laws consistent with the president and other members of the Republic government?"
"Of course, the entire constitution of the Republic was agreed with our president. Several options were proposed, among which my version of the constitution, agreed in advance with my political party, received the most votes. In short, everything is seized inside the Republic. The former laws of The Council served as a prototype of the constitution, and those who are familiar with them will understand that our constitution is a continuation of these laws, but in a more perfect form.
Regarding the approval of the Constitution of the Republic by the Parisian Assembly, I am afraid that some changes will be made. But since I always wanted a better future for my state, I am ready to assure that I will make every effort to ensure that the changes are not fatal for our constitution."
"Good. Besides the constitution, what else are you planning? Does the Republic of Gallia have any plans for the future as a whole, besides creating a new list of laws?"
"At the moment, the main plans are the establishment of the Republic in the political arena by establishing reliable diplomatic relations with the states bordering us. For example, we are interested in developing relations with the Duchy and the Minarchy. In addition, the Zurich system may become for us a "goldmine" with the further development of trade with the Republic of Rheinland. However, such a development of relations may worsen the Gallic market by crowding out domestic corporations. In other words, with the establishment of such relations, the Republic will promote a policy of preferences for corporations engaged in the export of goods. Of course, there will be import substitution, and we hope that it will be of high quality, thereby allowing us to export as many goods as possible and maintain our own domestic economy.
As for the fleet, police and intelligence, alas, I can’t say anything: our Minister of Defense must answer such questions. Nevertheless, the constitution of the Gallic Republic will reduce the burden on all three power structures, since following several collections of laws at the same time is a really difficult burden."
"What about the planet Amiens? At the moment, it's is experiencing serious environmental problems, and the government of the planet has requested assistance from the new leadership in the person of the Republic."
"Here my answer will be brief: we are considering this issue and are preparing to establish contacts with Planetform. The cooperation of The Council and Bretonia allowed us to trust the Breton corporations, and we believe that Amiens will cease to be a troubled planet within the Republic. In other words, the climate will be corrected, and we will bring this planet to prosperity."
"Apparently you really have big plans for the Republic. One way or another, it seems to me personally that your entry into politics seems rather ambitious. We hope for you, Jacques. On this, I think, our meeting is coming to an end. Thank you for coming here and opening the veil of secrecy about the future of the Republic. Our news network will surely once again make you a guest of our talk shows, as you are ready to make contact with the civilian population. Of course, there are many more questions that we would like to get answers to, and I'm sure that you can answer all topics.
Dear spectators, our news network needs you! Leave your comments, share your opinion about the situation in the Republic and the Confederation as a whole. The most active viewers will get into our studio and, possibly, will speak with the political figures of the Confederation! See you soon!"
