With the recent development in Rh-Bret relations and everyone flaunting treaties that no one can even remember, shouldn't we create something like Sirius-wide Treaty Registry (something akin to UN treaty registry) so there is some clarity in what treaties exist, are valid and what they contain?
Don't all governments already have their treaties indexed in threads in their own sections, and sometimes listed in their own laws (whenever applicable)?
I mean sure, someone can go around and list all existing political treaties and make a list, like that guy who listed all the unofficial factions...
I actually think the Boorman treaty should be established by a neutral developer party. Its something to fall back on if there are no agreements with either house government. Something that allows either house to patrol to protect their house ships against attacks from Unlawful groups. A return to a wild-west scenario that at least makes the border systems a dangerous place to trot into.
Although again, that would be something difficult to moderate. Basis of it should be allowances for either house to send patrol ships in for defending its citizens and own house corporations. But no allowances to enforce cargo laws or engage in offensive attacks against other parties.
Treaties are a grey area because they originate from player rp. And as we all know, there are some silly situations originating from that. Having treaties recognized/done by the staff would mean also enforcement. And that's a whole new kind of ballgame and slew of work not only in legalese, mediation but also implementing consequences. Also, it would have to be weighted against the current storyline workflow.
