Owner's Name (and Organization's Name if applicable): Edison Stout
License requested and reason(s) for it: "Aurochs" Gallic Civilian Freighter
I am requesting license to fly this ship in and through Liberty space as a Lawful trader.
Evidence of positive reputation towards LN and LPI:•Attachment
Additional Notes, Comments, Questions or Requests: I am a Bretonian citizen, and in good standing with both Liberty and Bretonia Law as seen below. I acquired this ship as referenced here. As per the referenced notes the ship has only ever had one previous owner (EFL) and was only used in the service of short transport runs between Holman Outpost and Planet Harris in the Tau-31 system, never in battle or attached to any wartime unit. Also note that after removal from Gallic service, at my earliest opportunity I removed all Gallic armaments, power sources, and weapons and equiped the appropriate civilian equipment once I was back in Bretonia so that it would be in compliance. Director Hawthorne,
Thank you for the clarification as I was unsure of the status of Gallic civilian ships as Section 1: Article 7 of the The Laws of Liberty list the Gallic Royal Enclave as known criminals, and Section 3: Article 1 under Restricted technology. states "Affiliating with, working for or possessing identification, ship, equipment or weaponry from following organisations is forbidden:" and specifically mentions the Gallic Royal Enclave as well. While it is true that my ship was obtained through EFL, the ship is also used by Gallic Metal Service, Ile-de-France, as well as the Gallic Royal Enclave. This would appear to apply to the Gallic "Taureau" and "Vache" as well for Gallia. I haven't checked, but I would assume this may apply for some of the other groups listed in those sections as well. Section 3: Article 1 also seems to indicate that only Couriers and L'Anes would be authorized if it can be proved that they were not obtained for the Gallic Brigands. The wording is somewhat ambiguous to the status of civilian ships that are also used by criminal groups. Some clarification may be beneficial in the wording, possibly to indicate that those for those ships that are used by by both lawful and criminal groups that the combination of reputation, IFF, equipment, and weaponry are used in addition to the ship itself to determine the legality.
Also based on your above clarification, since my ship did not require license, will a refund of the associated payment be made back to my account since the payment was in error?
