I will never get why I have freezing while things come into my scanner/spawn on FL, while I run it through a NVMe SSD and a i7 9700. I can even run Doom Eternal without freezes, yet FL is weird.

It's pretty simple and there's actually nothing weird about it once you know what's going on. In a game like Doom Eternal levels have fixed number of assets spread across, so it can manage them around in a smart way: loading things in the background (besides it's multi-threaded, thus it can load resources in a separate thread without interrupting main threads that process states, logic, physics and rendering, so your frame rate remains stable) ahead before you reach to see them while unloading resources that are way past behind you already. Freelancer is a single-threaded application developed in early '00, so when it has to load resources on-the-fly it'll stall processing until requested resource is loaded and buffered, this results in a freeze. Plus it flushes resource cache and buffers whenever you dock/undock, it was done so to limit memory usage. While we have a lot of memory nowadays the program still tries to conserve it as much as possible because that's how it was designed. Additionally render in Freelancer is old, DirectX 8 old, and some poorly optimized models can rake up high draw call count and deal with constant buffer switching - way back then as hardware was weak performance bottleneck typically was elsewhere. It was optimized for its age, not as much as it could have been perhaps but not a bad effort either.
my laptop from early 2010 that had seen near-constant use for almost a decade, a crappy harddrive, and about 2gb of spare ram could load up discovery and play it with exactly zero problems, except big hitches when loading lots of ships at once
it is you who has the problem, not the launcher
also my computer now isnt exactly a powerhouse and has literally zero issues and hitches for a fraction of a second at most when loading nightmarish furballs lol
