Kommissarat HQ Planet Weimar, Thuringia 4/9/827 A.S, 15:00 Security had doubled overnight, everyone was rushing through the facility to make calls home. Some of them were in tears, others were just restless.
Kat was definitely one of the restless ones.
Her brother was up in the wind, and now knowing a formula that could wipe out most modern war platforms - her identity and freedoms to communicate openly were nonexistent. If anyone on the other side found out, she'd likely have one of the largest bounties on her head in Sirius. Perhaps even larger than Sirius' most wanted criminals.
After taking a few sips from her water bottle, Kat took a few more minutes to look over the conference room and ensure everything was in place. There were files on each of the desks, one in front of each chair for each member of Nord. There was a reserved seat and file off to the side for Direktor Enfield if he decided to show. There was nothing really else that was necessary, but Kat was the type of person that enjoyed an over-prep'd "anything" as opposed to just the standard. Even when wearing one of the highest ranks, she still felt she was being judged.
Moments passed, Kat finally accepted that everything was ready to go, and began to power up the hologram projector. As the projector slowly came up - displaying the Buro's logo as a "screen saver" - Kat's attention was captured as members of the Nord unit began to walk in.
Welcome, please have a seat where you please. The files on the desks will contain highlighted points of the mission. I'll begin the brief once everyone's arrived. Kat announced to the first few walking in.
Kommissarat HQ, Briefingroom 28, Planet Weimar, Thuringia 4/10/827 A.S, 15:32 Arriving after hours of constant battles against the Imperial revolters unit leader Ísbrjótur and the rest of unit "Nord" began to walk into the briefing room. Exhausted from the physical exertion they took a seat in the front row of the Briefing room.
Kommissaroberrat Laurenz, eine freude to meet you in person. Einheit "Nord" is ready to receive your orders.Ísbrjótur sat down and his eyes were on the projector. We've read your initial message briefly and we're all keen to hear from your plan Kommissar. By the way are there any refreshments? My soldiers are kinda thirsty after hours and hours in combat.Ísbrjótur leaned back leaning his head on his arm.
Kommissarat HQ Planet Weimar, Thuringia 4/9/827 A.S, 15:05 Likewise agent, you'll find there are water bottles on the table at the edge of the room just over there. She said eyeing them for a second before turning her attention to the collective. To everyone else, welcome, and thank you for being here on time. I'm not entirely certain if Direktor Enfield will be joining us, but please greet him as appropriate if he decides to join us. I will call attention if he does.
She took a breath and a sip from her water bottle as she walked back over to the hologram projector, changing it to chart of the Frankfurt system just outside Holstein. I stated before in the brief, that this is of top priority. You're all here, hence it's important. I will take questions after the brief, for now please remain attentive.
So... Good afternoon everyone. I am Kommissaroberrat Laurenz, during this operation you will refer to me by my alias - VIPER. She gave the formal introduction with both hands behind her back, facing the group before grabbing a remote control and walking about the room.
As you all know the Imperial Coup has left the Buro void of dozens of imperative resources. Of those are of the most important secret facilities employed by the Inspektorat, and the Kommissarat for the Buro's "questionable activities". She spoke with a slur to emphasize the ending portion. Of these facilities lies one belonging to the Kommissarat, a Bio-Weapon and research facility deep beneath the surface of Planet Holstein. Roughly 35,000 meters down into the void.
To our knowledge the Military and Federal police have no knowledge that this facility even exists. The only entry point to the facility is stranded off on the most remote estate possible. However that will no longer be a viable point of entry to avoid compromising the facility. This should make the operation quick and simple, assuming any of the experiments aren't running loose...
Now, the reason for our entry to this facility in this time of all times is because there as certain document hidden away - a blueprint. The blueprint contains an outline to an Ion-Plasma-defense cannon. What makes it more unique however, is that the formula to compress Ionized Plasma cells is in the Blueprint. This is Science talk, but essentially compressing drastic amounts of Ionized Plasma cells paves way for destructive potential similar to - if not worse than what was seen at the end of the Gallic war. The concern for the Imperials capturing it is their partnership with the Unioners, or terrorists. If THEY get it, the repercussions would be unimaginable. The few people that have managed to uncover that formula have been killed or committed suicide to avoid leaking it. The weapon falls under the category of a W.M.D, it has the power to obliterate capital vessels, stations... it's bad. Which is why we need to either confiscate or destroy it, depending on if we meet Imperial Military personnel down there.
Now you should all understand, unless you want the events of Leeds to be reflected in Rheinland, we NEED to get that back. She back and forth through the center row of tables, switching projections with the remote control device in her hand.
The information you have just heard, does not exist by the way. Let's all be clear. This mission - to the rest of the world and everyone outside this room besides Direktor Enfield, is being done to save "important personnel" coming from the Sigma cluster, and Munich. We will utilize this false information to organize a distraction outside Holstein that will draw away the garrison forces. Meanwhile, we will utilize a retrofitted Battlecruiser, the MEC-Megalodon - to dive beneath the surface, and to the Facility. Once we have the documents, or destroyed them - we will resurface and make our retreat. She closed down the hologram display, forcing the team to turn their attention to her more in-depth.
With this in mind, the mission Objectives are as follows:
-Enter, A-Sektor-4893 without drawing any attention.
-Retrieve or destroy the Blueprints, I will be present and direct you to the place where they are hidden away.
-Sabotage the facility's main entry-point.
-The documents, must NOT fall into enemy hands. They must either be confiscated or destroyed at ALL costs.
The lights turned back on, just as Kat asked the final question.
Questions, comments, concerns? A tactical plan will be drawn up on entry to Holstein. We will enter AFTER the garrison is distracted by the Bundschuh. The Bundschuh also believe this is an escort mission.
Kommissarat HQ, Briefingroom 28, Planet Weimar, Thuringia 4/10/827 A.S, 15:32 Ísbrjótur cleared his throat before he began to speak.
This looks very interesting and it will be a very bloody operation it seems.. if the Imperials get their nose into this. Einheit Nord is ready for the mission Frau Laurenz. Ísbrjótur took a look to the left and right.I think we all know what it will cost to make this mission a success and my unit is ready to pay the price.. für Rheinland. I'm concerned about the civilians.. are there any civilians around? Families of the workers etc?Ísbrjótur stood up walking towards the water bottles at the edge of the room. When do we begin the journey Frau Laurenz? Einheit Nord is ready regardless.
Kommissarat HQ Planet Weimar, Thuringia 4/9/827 A.S, 15:05 In space? I don't know. In the facility? No, no civilian knows of this place, nor military as far as we're concerned. Kat replied. I'm not expecting to find anyone down there at all, only loose experiments... potentially.
What kind of experiments do we speak about? I doubt that we'll find any civilians around the Planet currently but we're always open for some surprises. If we are done I would like to take a rest before we start the mission later. Einheit Nord, you heard the orders.. Abmarsch!Ísbrjótur turned towards Frau Laurenz. You also may refer to me as Roland if my callsign is to difficult for you.
Kommissarat HQ Planet Weimar, Thuringia 4/9/827 A.S, 15:10 Kat hesitated for a moment before answering. It was a weird answer to give. The kind that will... uh... eat you. But none of them should be out of their containment cells. If they are we'll know upon entry and I will take precaution. This facility is tens of thousands of meters deep, it's allowed us to... play god. If you will.
The initial dive was an experience, but so far everything was going according to plan. The Bundschu's efforts overhead allowed for the MEC-Megalodon to move in cloaked. Now, being so deep beneath the surface of the sea, there was no way anyone would be able to detect them until they resurfaced. The Kommissar's and SpezialAgents applying for the rates were documenting every minute of the dive. The data collected and any variables that occurred during the initial dive, and resurface - would be useful for application to other vessels.
Once the 20k alarm hit she knew it was time gear up. Her, and Nord were outfitted to fight a war. The Buro's standard armor outlining was a positively charged Titanium layer fitted between two thick layers of Kevlar. It was multipurpose, for both hard projectile and pulse round protection.
Being the elite Marine division, and specializing in a variety of operations similar to this - Nord carried their own personally-selected weapons. The Buro's norm for small arms was "use what suits you best"; since in every situation that required the Buro's ground units - there was almost no ROE or regulations to abide to. Kat knew very little about small arms, but something about the shotguns was appealing - so she took that route.
The helmets and tactical gear also included night vision, infrared, and radiation-sensitive displays through the mask lens. Best equipment for Rhienland's best operatives.
Kat held her helmet in one hand, and the shot-gun slung to her back as she walked towards the rest of the team.
We're closing in one the installation. We'll enter through one of the underway boarding tubes. Based on our descent vector and positioning of the ship relative to the facility, we'll end up on the medical deck. The Prints are stored in my personal quarters, we can head up to the entrance elevator first and plant charges. It'll cut off anyone else from getting in via the main entrance. Kat extended our her wrist, the PDA-like display on it projected a small hologram of the facility. Once that's done, we'll cut through the research facility to my quarters and take back the prints. If we run into Imperials, it'll likely be at the main entrance. But I doubt it.
MEC-MEGALODON Planet Holstein, Frankfurt 4/11/827 A.S, 01:27 While the other members were preparing their gear. Roland was ready to go. His custom suit was a lighter version of the Buro's standard armor with a prototype suit with integrated "Memory Alpha" technology the suit was made for covert operations and made his carrier almost invisible. Roland always trusted his gear and his men, but it seemed that Frau Laurenz was a bit nervous. Roland's arsenal ranged from his modified assault rifle to anti-personnel mines with integrated laser tripwires, bayonet knife attachments, integrated gasmask and medical equipment to treat small wounds.
A shotgun? Good choice Viper, effective on close combat.. but whom I talking to you should know about such things since you've served in the Militär.Roland chuckled. So where exactly is your quarter? In the case of unwanted complications? If one of your experiments breaks out?Roland looked at Viper nodding in acceptance and turned back to the hologram.Gut, we move into the facility, place some presents for unwanted guests on the elevators and get the blueprints. I also assume we have permission to engage all targets we meet down there? Anyways, I don't want to spend the rest of my life down here, Einheit Nord.. ausrücken! While the rest of the Team left the armory Roland turned to Viper. It's not a shame to be a bit nervous, you're in good hands Viper.
