to the OP of the post, you're absolutely right I myself among many adressed that both on the forum and in media (youtube etc.), shi* never changes here and I slowly start to think we just feel accustomed to seeing these threads come and die/ignored. But on the other hand, do we have a Dev team with such skills right now? I don't think so. FLhook is a pain in the a** and you need some serious people devoting their time into it to make the game/mod more interesting, immersive and whatnot. So at this point I don't realy know what to tell you bud.

I'm not sure how we're going to be able to make it happen, but it's honestly one of my personal priorities to have at least some kind of interesting PvE that's both progressive and doesn't boil down to "lol bring a fleet of battleships and grind out missions with ubertorpedoes for six hours".
Exactly. +1 in addition (I know many disagree) PvE will also create alot of PvP, it's all a cycle that connects each player into interactions. You got something for the player to do when he can't find other players to interact with and due time they will meet other players imo PvE content is a magnet for PvP/Players.
Missions need some serious improvement. Missions aren't part of the progression of the game anymore -- they're an endgame. They're what players with battleships do when no other caps are online to bully. Missions pay out far too little to make them worth doing. Sure, capital ship missions can pay several million credits, but when you consider the time investment, and the possible need to split the cash between multiple players, it's insensible. Missions are something people only do when they're bored, or if they're using an ID that isn't rephacked and need to make some reputation adjustments.
Generally, nobody's doing missions without a capital ship. This is backwards. In vanilla, missions were my main method of grinding for new ships. Now you can't even do missions without having a ship you've already done grinding for!
They're already plenty difficult or time-consuming in some cases, especially for a solo player. Bump the payouts up. Maybe 2 or 3 times what we currently have, maybe more. This won't make the overall pace of the game faster or slower, nor will it really change once people get to their preferred endgame (often, battleships, but sometimes just a bunch of fighters everywhere), but it will give players more choices for their grind than just trading or mining, and allow them to stay in a smaller area in a combat ship, which lends itself better to the transition into PVP.
A way a lone a last a loved a long the riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend of bay,
brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to Howth Castle and Environs.
More pve : raise low tier missions rewards, improve cargo in npc convoys, improve short and medium range economy networks . Even these background activities are necessary to build up your story as a simple pilot or criminal. Pve shouldn't be just about ores, or capship missions.
You haven't had to grind guard rep or fly to Kappa to get your Mk VIII armor and snac, and boy does it show.
