Nervous and excited Laura docked on Battleship Norfolk smiling ear to ear. The chance at being Fleet Admiral Steiner's aid was an amazing opportunity that would in her mind advance herself within the Bretonian Armed Forces. Not many can say they were his personal aid after all.
As she approached his door she swept her hair back behind her shoulders, straightened her uniform and proceeded to knock.
*Knock Knock* Fleet Admiral Steiner, Its Captain Remes, may I come in?
Yes. came the distracted reply as Edmund sat at his desk fumbling about for a particular report that was lost within dozens of other reports, papers, books and orders. He didn't even realize who it was until he bothered to look up. Oh. Remes. Good, have a seat. I was trying to find your new orders but they seemed to have gone missing, which would be about right. He was slightly annoyed about it, and even more annoyed that nothing was where it should have been. The war kept things quick, short notices that didn't need explanation. In peace, this wasn't quite the case. Or he was just in his office more and so made more of a mess. Either way, he wasn't fond of it. Sorry...what were we talking about? he asked, finally standing and coming around to greet her more appropriately.
She walks in and notices an extreme lack of organization and wondered how in the world does he work like this? Its always a pleasure to see you Admiral, We were discussing my new post as your aid.Which clearly he is in need of one she thought.I am a bit curious who was your previous aid? There is no way who ever took this position before me had actually done a good job. Its incredible how he can keep The Bretonian Armed Forces running like he does she pondered.
Ah..no one. he said offering her a seat didn't need one. Well, there was Henrich, but he's on deployment at the moment so, he's not around. He took his pipe out and began stuffing it casually, And things got a bit..out of hand recently...so without further adieu, do you want the job? It's remarkably simple, it's just keeping everything...ordered.
she took the seat that was offered to her as she listened closely. As he mentioned Henrich she couldnt help but think she heard that name before but quickly moved on. I would love this position, the opportunity to see first hand what it truly takes to run the Bretonian Armed Foces is something I cant pass up. she said happily. I would be remiss if I didnt ask if my status would change from auxiliary since I would be full time as your aid. she said nervously.
It would likely remain the same, unless you actually joined the primary fleet. Much as I would like to conscript people into the Forces, I don't have that authority. Well, not unless there is a crisis. He lit his pipe and went back around his desk and sat down. Either way you get the position, it's not the most glamorous, a lot of travel and phone calls. But it's become something rather essential to me. It was only now that he actually looked at the person opposite him and was struck by her beauty that seemed to be pronounced by the faint glow from the Leeds star. The room was drenched in a softer orange light that gave Remes an unusual look, her darker features were more pronounced, yet the individual herself could have dissapeared into the room and few would have noticed her unless she said something, it was both mesmerizing and chilling in equal measure.
Puzzled by his response she kept a straight face. I think I will just apply for a transfer then she thought.I understand and I will prepare the neccesary paper work to get that started since I dont plan on leaving the Armed Forces. she stood up. Well if you deem it needed then I am more then happy to fulfill those duties she said as she noticed Steiner looking at her strangely. I suppose I will start with this desk you have here and get everything organized as she started to arrange standing orders, promotions, awards and other important documents neatly that can be easily accessible. Oh it seems I found my new orders here Admiral. It was under some orders you where supposed to send out. She said as her eyes glistened as she glanced over to him.
