Ling spins a pen around his fingers. "Specialties are a choice of the bartender. The house Kusari is famous for it's sake, and I have a few mixes I could recommend, however sake by itself is a very nice drink, not unlike wine. It has an aroma of flower petals, and is pointedly smooth and sweet."
Ling motions to the bartender in what appears to be off-the-cuff sign language. Along with his drink, the bartender brings a variety of bottles, a shaker, a peeler, two different strainers and a tall spoon. "One of the first mixes given to foreigners like you and I, Drake, is a mixture that derives it's main flavors from a separate drink, and the sake is the mixed ingredient, not the mixer"
As he says this, he pours a little more than half a glass of Liberty Ale, and a little less than half a glass of sake into the shaker, along with a large piece of ice. After shaking it thoroughly, he puts the strainer over the top, and pours the drink into a clean glass that the bartender had just brought over. "The end result is a familiar flavor balanced with a foreign flavor. Something to ease you into a new land, you see?"
Ling slides the glass over to Drake. "Not one that I, myself, am fond of, but a beginning drink for the world of sake."
Yoshigahara was slightly confused about the ale stuff, but smiled as soon as introductions were over
"Pleasure is all mine, Mister Drake." Yoshi said in calm tone, but decision to play more games couldn't be resisted by Drake's question about Ling's attitude. "Well not really ruuuude, buuuuuut uuuhm " Yoshigahara had to grin before giving Ling an innocent smile, carefully observing Drake's expression.
Sun enters the festival in her normal Buddhist attire, she has been looking forward to the event ever since Priestess Kiku invited her. She keeps her hands infront of her as she silently observes all the proceedings with her serene smile and demeanour.
Ling was having fun finally seeing Drake in a relaxed manor. "Ahh, but Drake, you should know by now, I don't cause trouble. I'm simply very good at finding it."
Ling twirled the tall spoon around his fingers. This festival was already a success to him, and it hadn't been all that long. "Yoshigahara-san, I don't suppose I could interest you in a sweet mix? Strawberry and cream for a base?"
A man of average height and build with auburn hair and a well-maintained beard made his way into the hall, wearing a light sport jacket with the emblem of Natio Octavarium pinned to one lapel. He checked his watch, mumbled something to himself, and made his way over to the nearest bar to procure a neat bourbon -- not exactly the customary drink of Kusari, but an opener that he certainly needed.
Taking a sip and letting the flavours settle and express themselves around his mouth, he exhaled deeply. The events of the past twelve hours had been a complete mess, though he also considered that "complete mess" could be used to describe the events of most of his adult life. He swallowed and began to scan the room, looking for anyone he recognized. Life in the Taus alternated between eventful and dull, but in both of those cases he hadn't found much time to make friends outside of the Natio. Diplomacy was tricky, and generally had been his least favourite part of leadership, except when he could be snarky in communications.
His memory wasn't too excellent to begin with -- residual effects from the recovery from the Redshift incident, mostly, though some of the fog was there long before -- and his slightly late arrival didn't help any. He looked down with a smirk at his drink and wondered if this was going to be one of those nights that would stick with him.
Hopefully a Chrysanthemum festival would live up to the hype.
"Y'know, Ling, I like your attitude, but I was never a fan of Kusaris alcoholic beverages, I am more old fashioned into things like Suits, Cigars, and Whiskey. But I won't be rude to you and not try out the drink you've mixed so nicely for us." Drake puts out his cigarette in one of the ashtrays on the table and reached out to the drink and took a sip of it. "Mhm, you definitely have a hand for alcoholic beverages Mr. Ling, did you ever consider leaving us and become a high-class bartender?" Drake smiled as he kept drinking. "I'm kidding the Professors and I are glad to have you around us." Drake turned towards Yoshigahara who was kinda expecting an answer from him. "Please tell me when he is rude to you, I'll gladly teach him how to act properly, oh and Ling, I am very well aware that you are good at finding trouble." Drake leaned back into his seat with his drink. "So, how was the festival so far for you? I'm surprised by the ambiance here, really colorful and the music is very traditional."

"Killing the corporate weenies, so our kids can live in a free and just galaxy."
Hanako rolled her eyes, drunks forget themselves often. With drunks in mind, she walked off toward Misaki, who probably didn't know she had returned yet. Eyeing up the new arrivals, specifically the robed Buddhist with intrigue, standing behind Misaki silently until she eventually noticed her.
Hanako reached forward and grabbed the eyepatch, letting Misaki pull back on its elastic, she couldn't help but get a stupid smile for her dumb Misaki reaction.
"Pull your gun and I'll let this bruise your eye."
