It had been some while since he left New Moscow, since he left the Coalition behind and followed the true Premier on his path. Things have changed alot in recent times and he was still adjusting, but Junjie Chen was nothing if not a man of adaptation. Flying under a new flag, with the same superior as before, chasing the same goals. The traitors that now sat in the Iron Domes would need to be snuffed out eventually, but now with a different approach. The Radek had been in hiding eversince it arrived in New London, to keep it from the prying eyes of all those around that would see her torn to shreds. This hiding period had only been prolonged by having to wait for a dry dock slot to open up on Aland Shipyard. That slot had now opened, and the Radek, escorted by multiple vessels of the SIS was making it's way to the dry dock to begin it's journey along side chen.
20 Clicks from the Shipyard, Captain. We've been granted priority docking access to Bay 02.
Chen nodded slowly then as he checked the vessel status and got the scanner read. They were clear for now.
Take us in, XO. Nice and easy. We're sure to pull all the attention of the Shipyard, luckily we've had preparations to conceal her as much as possible once we're moored.
Chen relaxed into his chair as the ship then approached the shipyard. Trade vessels and patrols alike would see the Typhoon-Class slowly make it's way into Bay 02. This was the beginning of the end for it's Coalition Colors. This would be where she was refit and her colors changed. This is where it would all begin anew.
2 Clicks, beginning mooring procedure, escorts keep a tight perimeter.
The mechanics and technicians of the Armed Forces were surely already waiting on the shipyard, waiting to dive into the internals of a vessel they had never dissected before, to learn how the coalition operated. Chen just had one goal in mind. Get her working and ready to fly under new colors.
There were hissing sound around the vessel, followed by the tremor of the dry dock clamps grasping the vessel signaled that Radek was finally arriving fully to Bay 02. Chen ensured that all clamps and connections were secured and operating as intended before he begun to power down the destroyer in it's dock.
Secure the vessel, prepare for the work to come, XO. Ensure the men also leave it tidy so we have no complications. We want this refit completed as soon as possible.
Leaving the bridge, Chen went through each section of the moored vessel to ensure the preparations are being completed to turn the ship inside out and refit it to run with the planned new installations. It would be a challenge to get this marvel of Coalition engineering to work with bretonian systems, but that is what is needed. After ensuring his men were doing there work, he stepped off the ship, looking to meet his contact as was promised by the BAF for their research department.
Commander Killian had watched the Radek slowly making its way to the docking port, sided by the head of the engineering team that was dedicated to the retrofit. "If a year ago you told me we'd get our hands on one of these in this condition I'd have asked you to share the pills ye take" He muttered, leaning his head towards him, while still facing the doorway to the dock. "I want your men to examine every inch while retrofitting and I expect a thorough report from you later on. My superiors are most interested in this opportunity to learn about this vessels workings"
A second later it opened, opening sight on Junjie Chen, the man he was told was in command of this beauty. Killian stepped towards him. "Good day Mr. Chen. Im Commander Killian, Logistical Coordinator to the T&G. I've been sent by Admiral Sir McIntire to oversee the retrofit of your Vessel."
He said, watching Chen closely. While he had clear orders to get this project done properly and as quickly as possible, and he knew fully well this was a great opportunity, he did not like working with defectors. For him they were nothing more, even if they fought on the right side now. He took a deep breath, trying to brush the thought aside. "My team will get going now, if you allow."
He said, giving a sign to the head engineer to gather his men, who had been busy preparing their gear up until now.
Stepping through the doorway of the connecting gangway between the dock and the ship, Chen was greeted by Commander Killian, he nodded to him in greeting, shortly examining bith Killian and the person beside him.
Good day, Commander. Junjie Chen, formerly General of the Coalition, now in service of her Majesties Secret Intelligence Service. My men have prepared the vessel for retrofit and are ready to begin at any time.
He turned around briefly, gazing along the full length of the vessel with a slight smirk then before turning back towards the Commander.
They also have orders to answer any questions your men might have, I am sure you are quite interested in the inner workings of such a vessel.
He nodded shortly in unison with his words, a sign to the Commander that they are ready to begin whenever they were getting ready for it.
Killian nodded to the head engineer who immediately began to order his subordinates to their tasks. The engineering teams soon began to swarm out like a hive of jumpsuit wearing bees. "Thank you Mr Chen. Would you mind to show me the bridge? Just out of personal interest. I'm always interested in foreign technology. Also, what is your proper Rank if I may ask? Or does Mr Chen suffice for you?"
He said in a more polite tone. He had expected a less cooperative attitude in advance of the meeting but the demeanour of Chens made him ease up a bit.
Nodding, Chen was listening to Killian speaking about the vessel. There would be no problem to see the insides of the ship, being it was currently swarmed with engineers either way.
I assume it would be Agent now, but I am not sure, Commander. We can head inside now if you like, where you can view the bridge thoroughly.
Chen motioned for the Commander and the head of Engineering to lead the way so that they may explore the Vessel.
He followed Chen onto the bridge of the Radek, walking slowly through the now swarmed corridors. When they reached it he looked around at the consoles and then back to Chen. "Quite impressive. I always admired the Coalition engineers for their ability to build sleek but sturdy ships. Not unlike the Crecy class in concept, yet very different in its execution. Do you have any experience in ship building yourself, Agent? I was in the engineering corps before being transfered to head the T&G Logistics."
He slowly walked to one of the consoles, examining its controls while waiting for Chens answer.
Having followed the Commander through the vessel to the bridge, he slowly shook his head in response while he stood near the Captains chair.
I do not have any experience building ships myself. I have always been a soldier and a fighter. I left the building and repairs to those who understand their duties and their work in the field. This is also why I was dependent on your engineers and your assistance in this project, or I would've been forced to eventually scuttle the vessel.
Chen moved around the bridge slowly, taking a closer look at some of the consoles himself before turning back to the Commander.
I am grateful for your assistance. If we get the Radek to work with reallocated and revamped systems, I am sure she will be of great service.
