Operation Chrysalis
Official faction event Description
With information returning from the north of the attack on Colorado, and details from the less than successful GANGPLANK having finally been analyzed, plans were drawn up utilizing still questionable elements within the Liberty Armed Forces to formulate an attack on a Liberty holding of significant importance. Located in the orbit of Brazos away from most major patrol routes, Prison Station Sugarland is to become the target of this assault.
Designated Operation CHRYSALIS, a wing of fighters of mixed force will mobilize on the station, conducting a high-suppression flight to distract the station's defense gunnery while a prison ship slated to be delivering many high-to-medium profile prisoners is scheduled to arrive. Insurgency operatives aboard the station will mobilize to secure the ship. The success of their capture depends on the space battle outside, as local garrison forces will no doubt move to remove the threat.
Once the fight is over, the victors will turn their attention to the prison ship.
Details
This will be liberty lawful forces with the primary force being Liberty Police against Liberty unlawfuls with the primary force being the Liberty Insurgency.
The Liberty Navy and Liberty Security Force will be allowed to register, but priority will be given to any Liberty Police ships that register.
There will be one slot open for an Oasis Liner that will take the spot of the prison ship, but will not take part in the fighting. This slot will be open to anyone who wishes to fill it, but must be filled by the time the event starts.
Post below in this thread to state your desire to participate. State your faction, name and ship type.
The event will take place on Sunday, August 23rd, 2020 at 19:00 UTC.
Rules
All technology will be allowed for this event, including equipment and ships, though lend-lease ships on the lawful side are discouraged. Exceptions will be noted below.
Because this is a PvP event, running from the combat zone should you decide to leave it for some reason will be counted as death. Use of cloaks and NEMPs will not be allowed. (Not that you can really even use NEMPs anyway.)
Much like Curacao Caper, a particular ship will be the main focus of this event, in this case a passenger liner. The event will remain a purely fighter focused event, and whoever wins will receive command over the liner, which will be in-RP filled with over 3,000 prisoners.
If all Liberty Lawful ships are destroyed or otherwise are removed from the battlezone, the Insurgency will gain control over the liner and escort it off to the west of Texas.
If all Liberty Unlawful ships are destroyed, or otherwise are removed from the battlezone, the Liberty Police will regain control over the ship and continue with their lockdown procedures, albeit with the loss of several hundred prisoners due to internal sabotage by the Insurgency operatives.
The outcome of this event will influence future events in this chain.
Registration
Non registered ships are to not approach the combat area to avoid confusion. Camera ships will of course be allowed to film the event should they wish.
Keep signing up even if slots are full. New ones will be opened or you can be pulled in from reserve. Sides will be balanced as needed, so registering for both sides is encouraged.
