Its a really good way to RP the AI and don't get down, don't give up - please!. There has been a mistake I am sure, AI were never -0.55 across the board.
This question was floating around for long and perhaps this time I can get adequate answer. Why AI ID if you can use FL ID and have more benefits, including no hostile/no dock reps? If your interest is RPing human-friendly AI, why do you need a cruiser and line allowing you to attack first in the systems where no gates.

Hostile to Core and Nomads. Freelancers are human species, not a sentient AI species and RP must be different.
With regards attacking first in non-gated sytems
I suspect the AI ID was changed to accomodate a for situations like when the Collective was an official faction. But I have no idea. Perhaps someone with more knowledge could elaborate?
Do note: "...this enigmatic stance has led to conflict and tension, often due to their closest neighbours' all too human fears, suspicions, and miscommunications. The intense, hostile political environment of the region has warranted even greater caution from the resident artifical intelligences as well."
"Oddly enough, the Drones of Gammu themselves have reacted to these violent threats, acts, and provocations quite inconsistently between encounters, leading some to speculate that their civilization consists of a vast number of autonomous units, not too different to human society."

I agree. The Gammu AI especially in the last couple years have always been portrait as hostile since their Lore has been redone for the last time like 5 years ago or so in which it strictly mentions that hostilities between Human Factions such as Order, Sairs, Core etc. and AIs have been withnessed when the AI's were awakening on Gammu. But over time people still kept trying moving it back to a neutral state kinda like the Consensus (HassLHoFFs faction).
If you want a human-friendly AI why not go for a better ID like groshyr mentioned Freelancer ID etc. It's not like RP-whise anyone prevents you from doing Human-AI's. The AI's on Gammu are not Human built. We can talk more detailed about this on Discord if you want, AI's were one of the factions next to Coalition I used to fly actively and was and still am very interested in.

Rule-wise all IDs now hostile to nomads until said otherwise:
4.5 - All IDs may:
Claim bounties within their Zone of Influence.
Attack Nomads and Wild within their own Zone of Influence.
Attack Nomads and Wild to defend allied or neutral ships outside their own Zone of Influence.
Attack others to defend allied ships within their own Zone of Influence.
Attack others in self-defence or to defend ships of the same affiliation anywhere.
Regarding RP: some IDs have more freedom for their RP than others. For example, Freelancer, Zoners, Junkers - these three IDs are, probably, the most flexible in the mean of RP

Yes, I agree. Which means GAI not as flexible. As it should be. They are a minor faction within the game and some people seem to want them "boxed in" to being robots etc.
Eley's approach is a breath of fresh air. It forces or rather enables a new way of RPing GAI based solidly (as I can tell) on its lore. It also enables AI ID's to identify themselves as "people" of Sirius. That in turn has brought GAI out of Gammu and into the mainstream.
Would it hurt to have GAI active in different parts of Sirius/Gallia? Perhaps relocate Primus and Secondus Outposts further afield?
