This is indeed interesting. That said, inRP isn't the Bretonia Fleet sort of squished post-war?
If Bret contacted Liberty and misc groups (this would be an interesting RP line for my currently-being-rebuilt-cruiser) it'd make more sense. Plus be cheaper for the Bret government than buying people heavy caps. (Is the Aland sale funding this idea?)
Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts... perhaps the fear of a loss of power.
This is not an official event. It doesn't even count as an event. It is a spontaneous grouping of players with one interest because of something the devs said. They have nothing to do with this except having said that if we manage to break through the shield, something fun will happen.
The Aland sale is inRP and has no impact in-game. Bretonia gets no actual credits, it is merely a piece of RP which will justify why and how Aland changes hands in the next patch. Bretonia will fund this with its bank characters, which are already very rich, and with support from the BMF. This is more of an in-game attraction than an RP session, consider it no more than a casual raid but with probable consequences. Although this is not an event, it might cause one to be made by the devs/admins.
The Hessians could siege POBs in New Berlin with 20 battleships, I don't see why Bretonia can't do this. One battleship in-game doesn't represent one battleship inRP.
