These are the tales of Liam Milne of LNS-Scotland Surprises,
Life is indeed full of them. If you asked me a month ago if I would be flying under The Liberty banner temporarily, I would pause and look at you, puzzled.
Yet here we are. How you may ask, is it even possible the very same Liberty who bailed us out with their lend-lease ships during the Gallic war would even have the need for our ship to join their banner for a while?
The answer is simple. It appears that once more they are on the move to foreign territory, acquiring land in Tau-31, assisting our Crayter allies, and in general moving to territories near ours.
The need for instruction
Unsurprisingly, Liberty still has many veterans in their Primary fleets that can more than handle themselves far away from home.
However there are still many a new captains in The Liberty Navy Secondary fleet that can benefit from someone with the current knowledge of the landscape in the regions near ours and that's where we come in.
The Temporary Assignment
We have departed with skeleton crew to Liberty territory, and acquired a large number of Liberty personnel. The aim is to fly, train and exchange knowledge and information with The Liberty Navy Secondary fleet, repay at least some of the help Liberty has given Bretonnia, and hey - maybe learn a thing or two ourselves before returning back home.
These are the tales of Liam Milne of LNS-Scotland A fast turn of events
Well action didn't wait too long to happen.
First there was some puzzlement with The Primary Fleet Members who haven't been yet informed about our temporary stay under The Liberty Navy Secondary fleet banner.
That was cut abruptly short by a strange massive vessel that uncloaked right behind our ship, ignored everyone else and started firing immediately.
[] K'Hara|Igigi: [Dozens of distant screams flood your mind as the creature materializes from nothingness]
[] K'Hara|Igigi: ***..'yours' shall ~perish~ in -flame-..***
[] K'Hara|Igigi: ***..void -embraces- 'yours'..***
Needless to say, our newly assembled crew that was mid meet-and-greet soiree was caught completely off-guard. I must say that we expected to provide our expertise, but we might get extremely valuable intel for the defense of our homeland should these creature begin to attack us there. If a large cloaked ship attacks within minutes of our arrival randomly, imagine how much of a massive issue the aliens might pose to Humanity once again.
Our reports that The Nomads have been all but eradicated from house space seem clearly wrong if a massive vessels such as this one can freely engage in the middle of an assembled Liberty fleet.
The Bretonnian government might wonder if our temporary stay in Liberty isn't just a needless redirection of needed resources, but already it is proving more than valuable thanks to the intel we gathered within minutes of our stay.
These are the tales of Liam Milne of LNS-Scotland Deja-Vu First day on our temporary stay and already I thought I am seeing double NOT ONE, BUT TWO MOLLY BARGES emerged seemingly out of nowhere from a California asteroid field. The Molly peasants - here? What on earth is going on! They also seemed about as intelligent as your average Molly, just with a different yet also hard to understand working class accent.
[] BlackMist: hehe ony one navy
[] BlackMist: you want pay Rogues ?
[] BlackMist: 20mil good pricew for you
[] BlackMist: ok testinf my guns
[] Badblood: prepare to die scum!
[] Badblood: die die die!
Luckily most of my vessel's staff are Liberty Navy Secondary fleet officers, and my XO John Evans set the record straight
[] LNS-Scotland: Cap: Are you a Molly?
[] LNS-Scotland: Evans: Sir, they might have similar ships, but they are The Liberty Rogues
[] LNS-Scotland: Cap: blimey Evans
Unlucky for us, our crew is still getting used to working together, and these....Liberty Rogues actually appear to be using advanced military tactics somehow and actually correctly surrounded our vessel, withdrew and pushed into us at the right times!
What's even more alarming is Hearing rumors from home that The Mollys back home might have attacked out battlegroup in Dublin and apparently there is a communication confusion in trying to reach our vessels there.
Are these two criminal groups cooperating?
Is there a plot between them to unite against our respective governments?
How best can we join forces and expertise to defeat both of them?
These questions are some we will look to get an answer to. And after just one day it seems that this temporary mission of cooperation might prove more fruitful than we have ever dreamed of.
These are the tales of Liam Milne of LNS-Scotland A resounding victory
Today is a massive victory for our combined crew
1) We managed to track down and sneakily get on the tail of two Nomad vessels in New York.
2) Followed them unsuspected all the way through Pennsylvania.
3) Allerted a joint task force of The Liberty Navy and Liberty Police Incorporated to their location.
3) The advanced technology of LPI-SWAT-Allenwood was then able to reveal a large vessel hiding under the guise of cloak. It was revealed to be the very same vessel that attacked us cloaked the last time!
4) Poetic justice has been served, giving our joint crew a massive victory, and payback as we managed to shoot it down!
Our thanks goes to the joint operation of LNS, [LN] and LPI and their highly skilled pilots along with Liberty crew aboard our vessel, who together repelled the alien threat, I was there really just for the ride to witness the amazing cooperation.
These are the tales of Liam Milne of LNS-Scotland Leaving Liberty
I hereby pronounce the initial acclimatisation stage of our training a resounding success. We joined group operations with the local forces, tested our vessel multiple times in combat and the joint crews have shown that they can indeed cooperate at a high level.
Now it's time to take the Libertonian part of it out of their comfort zone away from the safety of their homes.
Stage two
Now the real fun begins. We will be departing Liberty core space at once, and begin training exercises in the more challenging Independent worlds of Cortez, Magellan, Coronado, Inverness and Vespucci.
What would I like to get out of this move?
- It should be a more challenging and rewarding environment for the Libertonian part of my crew.
- We will get them ready for operating on longer range assignments.
- Joint operations in most of these worlds will be possible with the Bretonnian forces.
- And last, but not least, I will feel less like a fish out of water. My Libertonian XO Evans was starting to get a little feisty with his superior knowledge of Liberty, it's time to return the favor a little bit.
These are the tales of Liam Milne of LNS-Scotland The marvelous ambiguity.
Is a phrase I will try to hammer into the head of my crew. if you want to eventually join an expeditionary force to unfamiliar territories, you better embrace the unknown!
And within minutes of our training exercises in the Independent worlds that's exactly what happened. In the system of Vespucci we have encountered a truly strange spectacle of unknown ships to us that identified as such:
NOT EVEN THAT SMUG XO EVANS KNEW WHAT THEY WERE!
[] LNS-Scotland: Cap: A-xe-sia?
[] LNS-Scotland: Cap: Evans! Explain!
[] LNS-Scotland: Evans: no clue sir, never seen these around Liberty
[] LNS-Scotland: Cap: I believe this might be first contact! Whom are we speaking to? None of us recognise your faction not even smartass Evans here!
[] LNS-Scotland: Cap: In your face evans!
There was something ... odd about the way these ships responded to us. Almost as if lacking intelligence they communicated in almost a robotic unresponsive way .
[] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Entity known as LNS-Scotland, you must depart this system back to Magellan immediately.
[] LNS-Scotland: Cap: greetings
[] LNS-Scotland: Cap: I believe this might be first contact!
[] LNS-Scotland: Cap: to whom do we have the pleasure to speakl
[] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Repeating; entity LNS-Scotland, depart to the Magellan system immediately.
[] LNS-Scotland: Cap: Hello!
[] LNS-Scotland: Cap: whom are we speaking to?
[] LNS-Scotland: Cap: none of us recognise your faction
[] LNS-Scotland: Cap: not even smartass Evans here
[] LNS-Scotland: Cap: in your face evans
[] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Final warning: Entity LNS-Scotland, depart to Magellan. Immediately.
[] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Entity is not engaging vectors to the anomaly. Initiating encouragement proceedures.
[] LNS-Scotland: Cap: pardon?
[] A/)-Augur: I means move before we move you.
[] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Depart immediately, entity LNS-Scotland.
[] LNS-Scotland: well
[] LNS-Scotland: you fire at us
[] LNS-Scotland: proceeding
[] A/)-ACV-Eidolon.Wraith: Recognising hostile vectors. Responding with response code red.
[] LNS-Scotland: Cap: well
[] LNS-Scotland: Cap: this was bizzare
[ LNS-Scotland: Cap: why wouldn't they talk to us?
[] LNS-Scotland: Evans: no clue sir
The bizarre behavior continued. First they fired a "warning shot" that actually was AN APOCALYPSE TORPEDO designed to wipe life out of entire cities!
We then initiated defense procedures, outnumbered, with a crew still trying to come into terms with one another, in an unknown territory.
And then inexplicably THEIR BATTLECRUISER FLED THE SCENE. Only to be replaced by a small vessel that might have been a gunboat?
Well, needless to say I have had enough, and my crew must know when to go on the offensive, and when to retreat. These ships might be some derelict vagabonds that congregate in the Independent worlds as life in The Houses is too complex for them, or simply unmanned drones only programmed to respond. Either way it was not our crew's place to destroy their small vessels when there was no real threat, and I have ordered my crew to depart without further shots being fired to avoid a potential incident.
Now it's time to do more research about this group, but more importantly I hope my crew learned the lesson of possible ambiguity they might face, and that violence beyond standard defense is not always the answer.
