Navy Routed in Surprise Ambush!
Colorado - The forces of Task Force Warhammer, backed by supporting forces from Battlegroup Harmony and assisting independent forces from the Secondary and the Liberty Rogues, launched a devastating surprise attack on the Liberty Navy in Colorado earlier today. Following the surprise assault on Prison Ship Sugarland earlier in the year, and the capture of XT-38, engineers were hard at work fitting the captured prison liner with an experimental device to anchor for long range jumps using technology developed on Leniex. Utilizing asymmetrical tactics, the combined forces of the Insurgency and Liberty Rogues struck a decisive blow to Navy operations within the Colorado system.
While details remain unconfirmed as of now, sources within the Insurgency Navy hint towards the operation of the legendary Burning Fist, I.N.S. Ven'Gyr, against the Navy's forces in Colorado. With the success of the operation, Insurgent activity within Northern Liberty is expected to rise, and likely clash with the local Xenos. Following this attack, Naval assets within Colorado attached to the newly commissioned L.N.S. Ohio are expected to need respite, giving precious time for loyalist assets to begin further sweeps and operations into the region.
Connections with Liberty Rogue forces, who took part in the attack, are likely to grow with the success of the operation. This will likely help stabilize the Insurgency's connection with the deep market, and provide critical support in areas where typical pirates and unlawfuls thrive. The Burning Fist is expected to return to Vespucci for further refitting, and will likely be slated for further operations in the field. It would appear the days of Warhammer's role as the dedicated home guard are over, and with the flexibility of the former Legion asset now apparent, the next series of events could happen anywhere.
