I also think that this is done very inconveniently, and you've to look for information everywhere but in game, because of... Why, really? Inexplicably. PVE-zones and conquested systems are something that shouldn't be "discovered", they should be known to everyone, imo. There was a request about it, but it seems that the Team didn't like the idea, or they left it for later (in the best case).

Why shouldn't PVE zones be "discovered" ? For a mod calling itself Discovery Freelancer there's awfully little "Discovery" left in it. A couple of News / Rumors with hints around PVE zone locations and marking them with Navigation Buoys should be enough to point any average Freelancer fan in the right direction (you know, like it used to be done in Vanilla ?)

Did you yourself look for the way to the mission in vanilla? Or to some historical events? You were in New York, and they just told you to find Tohoku system and fly to some Tekagi's Arch, without even giving any information? Or maybe you were looking for a way to Omicron Major on your own to take part in the final battle, eh? PVE-zones are battles, representing current situation on the front in particular system. They aren't wrecks, or anomalies. And, yah, now I can flip through the entire navmap in search of these zones (they weren't there before), but it's still not as convenient as if this information was provided to the player in game.
