Date class retrofit
Konichiwa venerable Shimamori sama.
I am happy to confirm that the hull has been properly received and secured.
In line with the agreement your clan has made with the Kusari Naval Forces it will be significantly easier
to restore the vessel, in particular redesigning the forward gun mount to support a missile launcher instead
should prove to save quite some time.
As mentioned in our previous communications Kishiro's engineers have extensively researched the hull,
as well as the 'Date' class cruisers historical performance.
They have come up with three different Subclasses of the Date class design to bring it more in line with the modern age:
The Doragonzukurō, or Dragons Claw subclass of the Date class cruiser focuses on increasing the vessels powercore so it can more easily maintain continuous fire.
This option would have been particularly interesting keeping the vessels historic forward gun in mind, which has been known to be quite taxing on a vessels
energy reserve. However, given the aforementioned agreement between your clan and the KNF this option might not be as appealing as it otherwise would have been.
The costs for constructing an enhanced powercore such as this, as well as the upgrades needed to sustain it, would be significant.
The enhanced frame needed to support the powercore would also come at the downside of the vessel being less agile,
though the increased firepower might be enough of a deterrent to mitigate this cost.
We have quoted this subclass at roughly 450'000'000 credits, with a potential deviation of an estimated 20'000'000 depending on
negotiations with third parties for resources.
The Doragonzuai, or Dragons Eye subclass of the Date class cruiser focuses on increasing maneuverability, as your esteemed Captain will likely attest, many battles are won by the more agile vessel.
Being able to dodge incoming enemy fire and returning fire as soon as possible greatly increases a ships performance and chance for success.
This design and strategy is likely the most in line with most of the modern Kusari Naval Vessels.
Of course this increased flexibility comes at a cost, the vessels hull would have to be modified to handle the stronger engines, which means
less room to reinforce them to sustain enemy fire. In simpler terms, the vessels hull would be able to take less punishment than its other subclass counterparts.
In short, this design would bring the Date class cruiser more in line with a Destroyer class vessel.
The costs for making the needed modifications to the hull, as well as the improved engines would be relatively cheap to do.
We have quoted this subclass at roughly 250'000'000 credits, with a potential deviation of an estimated 15'000'000 depending on
negotiations with third parties for resources.
The Doragonzusukēru, or Dragons Scale subclass of the Date class cruiser focuses on a significantly tougher hull.
This design would focus on reinforcing the ships original hull to withstand extra punishment, as well as deviating some of the powercore
to energize the plating. To make a very complicated scientific story short, this would dissipate part of any incoming fire, effectively reducing the performance
of the enemies weapons. In effect, greatly increasing the vessels hull.
This subclass achieves this result by making some sacrifices, notably part of its powercore but more significantly its maneuverability.
This design would bring the Date class cruiser closer to a heavy cruiser.
The costs for making the needed modifications to the hull and powercore would be quite significant, however most of the experimental
resources required we already possess.
We have quoted this subclass at roughly 350'000'000 credits, with a potential deviation of an estimated 10'000'000 depending on
negotiations with third parties for resources.
I look forward to hearing your opinion on the matter, as well as hopefully your choice so we can begin the restoration.
It is inspiring that Kishiro takes the initiative to improve the projects beyond the initial blueprints. You have might gratitude for the attempts to enhance the cruiser in question. Having considered the options with Okamoto-san, and given that the primary objective of the ship is to provide support during expeditionary missions we have made a decision to opt for "Dragon Scale" for maximum durability and possibility of operating in hazardous environment for long periods of time without returning to the base.
All financial matters can be resolved at the moment of your convenience and the money can be wired to the account of your choice. Please, let us know of any additional needs if there are any, as well as of any progress.
We are grateful to Kishiro for your work and looking forward to hearing from you again.

Konichiwa venerable Shimamori sama.
A wise decision indeed, I am sure that the Dragons Scale design will not disappoint.
The estimated 350'000'000 credits can be wired to Kishiro|Bank-1,
should the expected potential deviation of 10'000'000 occur in your favor you will of course be reimbursed by the deviating amount.
We will begin with the reconstruction of the Date's hull immediately.
I am glad we are setting the project in motion. The expenses of Kishiro corporation have been covered. The financial matters must be covered now, I presume. I have no doubts Kishiro engineers live up to their name of expert artificers and bring life in this piece of Kusarian history. It will be surely be a good publicity for my clan, for Kishiro, and for the Empire in general.
I will be following your progress and looking forward to hearing from you.

I would like to inquire on the progress in construction of the vessel. I hope that Kishiro has not encountered any unforeseen difficulties in handling the task. Please, let us know if there is any assistance needed.

Konichiwa venerable Shimamori sama.
My apologies for the shameful delay in my response.
I am providing you personal access to the Project File in Kishiro's Project Directory.
A word of warning, upon accessing the page you will be requested to provide identification and set up several securities questions.
Additionally, the device you are using at the moment of connecting to the database will be linked to your account.
This means only your account, on that specific device, with this specific link, will be able to access the identification screen and fill in the security questions.
Going through these steps will provide you clearance to access "Project Dragon Scale" under "Classified Projects" as well as any future projects that might
be filed under "Public Projects".
Please keep in mind to securely store the link and choose an appropriate device that you expect to own for a long period of time.
In the unlikely circumstance that you lose your access link or the device it was connected to, please contact me or the Kishiro board of directors
so that a new link can be provided. Needless to say, should such a case occur the old link and device will immediately have their access revoked.
We here at Kishiro hold our customers privacy and interest at the highest regards.
It is my hope you understand our significant investment in digital security.
It is an unexpected reassurance to be hearing about the "Dragon Scales" again. I have never had doubt in our famous keiretsu and understand of the possible issues encountered while working on the project. In fact, we have encountered some legal issues that will limit the scope of ship's application. Nevertheless, I would kindly ask you to continue the work on the vessel. Whatever its fate will be, a legacy of Kusarian ship building ingenuity of old is better off renovated and capable of flying. Please, let me know if there is any assistance needed. Clan Shimamori will be glad to consider lending a hand if this is within our capabilities.
