When the Admiral Van Leer came in the hall and said his sentence to Sinon, She standed up quite fast because of the authority voice.
Sinon Yuki: Sinon Yuki ready for duty!! with energy.
When she looked in the direction of the voice and saw a man with a high rank. Sinon did not know how to act. So she apologized.
Sinon Yuki: Oh euh.. Excuse me sir to act like if I was at home! Sir! I was waiting for the others to let them know who I am... You see, It is important for me and for my future within the 46th and as I see, I think it will not happen...
She bent down to express a sincere apology. In her voice and moves, we can perceive she was educated as a Kusarian and not as a Libertarian. After she bent down, she did a salute to the man like all soldier would do toward a higher rank.
"At ease recruit, we bow to royalty, not to each other"
Van leer is struggling to keep up his serious demeanor, amused by the awkwardness of the recruit, but he still manages to keep his serious composure and tone.
"You really think you would get to a full-blown recruit without me knowing who you are? I might have not flown with you personally much - but who do you think proposed your promotion after seeing your record in the short time you are with us?"
Van leer actually becomes serious as he tries to think what gave the recruit the idea The High Command doesn't keep track on each member of The Strike Force.
"Now, I must soon attend to my duties and reports after the long journey - but please, tell me briefly what's troubling you Recruit!"
Sinon Yuki: I am Sinon Yuki, daughter of Sakura Yuki and Yuzu Takeda. I know I don't have my father's family name for some reasons and I would like to have the support of everyone to make my goal comes true. I mean by that, I want my father's ship for the job. He participated at the Kusari Civil War, but he vanished in 819 AS. The problem is I don't know where it could be and how I could get it right now. I don't even know what kind of ship it is because Captain Hideo told me he had a destroyer, but I don't know if he said the truth or not because I heard that my father had a fighter. I don't know where to begin. Why this goal? Because it is a family treasure and this ship is given to the next generation when the child is an adult since a long time ago. Now that I am an adult, the ship belongs to me, but first I need some contacts. I know I am asking a lot for a recruit, but this ship is more important than anything and even more than my own life. If I can have the ship, I would be proud to use it for the sake of Liberty. I know it will make confusion to the first navy, the 5th, LIA, LSF and the LPI, but I can't deny who I am and all my traditions. By my Kusarian blood, I swear to protect Liberty with the ship when I will have it.
Sinon waited an answer from the Admiral in front of her. She knew it was a big request, but it was important. If the answer was a ''NO'', she will understand and continue her life with or without the ship. One thing was sure, Sinon will not give up easily. We can see her determination in her eyes.
"I will make one thing very clear recruit - no civillian or foreign ship will be permitted to enter active duty in the Strike Force without modification.
As you might have noticed we make heavy use of civilian technology, heck even this very HQ we are standing in was bought from civilians - but everything is heavily modified and retrofitted for The Strike Force purposes before waived for active duty.
Are you 100% sure if you get this family heirloom you will want our engineers do their magic and alter it so it can be fit for duty and in line with our protocols? Are you sure you will want it to see combat and risk destruction afterwards?
However, I have no business in telling you in what ships you can or cannot fly on your own time, as long as they don't break any Liberty laws. You have been an exemplary recruit, and granting personal family leave is not out of the question of course to honor your family's tradition.
Now - how exactly can we help you on your quest besides granting said leave?"
Sinon Yuki: I already thought about the modifications that the engineers will do to make sure the ship could be compatible with Libertarian technology. If they don't touch the aspect I think it will be good. If they modify the systems, I will allow it. It is a sacrifice I can make for. I know the risks that it could be destroyed and rebuild like my Guardian...
This is what I have planed:
The first step would be to go to Kusari, meet people and contact the Kusari Naval Force about the disappearance of my father in 819 AS. I don't expect them to know something about Yuzu Takeda, but my logic says to start like I planed. The second step would be to get a License to granted the utilisation of my ship within Liberty spaces and I say maybe to communicate with the Kusari Government to get the permission to take one of their ship. I know as recruit my words will be not heavy like those from a higher rank. So I would like some help about the politic if it is not a problem.
If you think it will be better if I go assisted, I can understand because I am a recruit. Oh and if you have better a better plan, I am open to hear it.
The Admiral holds back the urge to sigh and correct The Recruit's usage of the term Libertarian, but as he has seen even high placed Libertonian dignitaries use the term he lets it slide.
"Well recruit, I'd say if you want to know my opinion you are putting the cart ahead of the horse here - shouldn't finding out what happened to your father be a priority and what you focus on? "
Blake respects the heritage of the people under his command, but struggles to understand how a ship can be more important that knowing what happened to one's family as a priority, Kusarian Culture or not.
"I would forget about the ship for now if I were you - it seems to me that if you find out what happened to your father in 819, chances are you will find the ship too.
I must make my leave now. I'd recommend your next steps would be to contact a Kusari records office -I am sure if you contact them over the Neural Net there willbe no need for your actual presence in Kusari. But it feels like if it were that easy your family would know what happened to him in the first place.
You might want to consider asking private investigators in the Bounty Hunter or Freelancer capacity with help of tracking your father's footsteps after his dissapearance - they will be much better suited for the job in Kusari than any of us would ever be as they can roam around and ask questions without raising eyebrows.
If even that fails - I'd suggest you try to request a private off the books appointment with Adm. Darkbeat who might call some favours in the LSF and/orLiberty Intelligence Agency. If anyone can find out someone's whereabouts - it would be them. But I would keep that option as the last resort if all else fails - we'd both have to owe them, and ask them to stick their noses into our private matters more than they already are.
Please don't forget to fulfill your duties in The Strike Force to the best of your ability in the meantime - it is still a priority however much I want to see you succeed in your quest.
Good Luck Recruit. "
The Admiral says as he slowly finishes the coffee he made during the exchange, and then retires to his quarters with a salute.
Sinon understood clearly what the man has said. She did salute to him before he left. The young woman understood that she will need to use the services from the BHG or even a Freelancer. The only question was this one: To who she could trust without a doubt to make those researches besides herself? Sinon decided to go into space to make a clear decision and also to talk with people. It won't be easy, but she had to do it.
Sinon landed on Manhattan and went to the bar. She took a sit and watched all around herself. She watched all the women and men that were there and tried to think if one of these were a Merc or someone that she could give a special mission about to find Yuzu Takeda's ship. She ordered a bottle of water and waited there. Of course before to went in the bar she had change her clothes for her kimono. It was the way to be in public.
She waited so long that she left the bar and cut the signal of her transmission. It appeared no one will come... After leaving the bar and reached her Guardian, she activated the engine and went into space. She was in a deep angriness that she cruised to Salt Lake Station and docked there. Once all systems offline, she headed to the mess hall and sit there. She was so angry that she was absorbed in her mind. She forgot to change herself, so she was agin in her kimono. Sinon did not really care, because her costume was in her ship and she will change later when the duty will call. The young woman closed her eyes and breath deeply to calm down. She was so concentrated that if someone was there and touched her, she would get a heart attack. At least, she could be proud to be usefull today. If only she was not alone right now...
Hideo got out of his room for his morning routine
"As he walks into the mess hall on his way to the dining room he noticed Yuki" Hideo: Good Morning little one, huh?! why the angry face and why are your eyes closed?! is everything alright?
