I'm not going to grind 250 million, write up an intricate SRP and start filing applications under harder scrutiny than vaccine approvals and wait for a group of people to take time out of their lives to congregate on a meeting to vote on the approval process just to not get instantly shot at wherever I go...with no guarantee of success or at least a refund. Ain't nobody got time for that.
I did play as a Junker and enjoyed my time with Groshyr's faction. I do believe that Junker ID is indeed the closest to what I am proposing.
Well I see the 250 as worth it, its the same as buying a cruiser. But yes it should be easier for someone who has at least a year on the forum to get such an ID, especially if its just a spec op ID with special rules and rep, and is not a ship too large to sport a Freelancer IFF.
Maybe they could make a pirate ID neutral-no dock locked instead of hostile when it comes to lawful bases? If so a pirate could sneak around more, linger closer to civilization and not be made hostile right away.
Jokes aside, I was under the impression you could actually get a different IFF as a pirate ? It has quite a few reps unlocked (including the pirate one, right ?).
That would be more akin to "flying a false flag". You still need the ID to give a convenient way for people to read the rules / confirm affiliations.
Now on the other hand if the IDs were hidden from the equipment when mounted... and there was a console command you could invoke to actually show the ID infocard only if the target wants it to be visible (sort of like the /showinfo command), then it would maybe be a completely different experience.

And Corp on Corp is what you want. Pirate ID has no Zoi for pirating, that's why it's nerfed like that
Agree, but Pirates you know... they don't obey to any laws

Fixed that for you

Ahh what you seem to hint at is making the ID oorp, That used to be the way it was, and you were supposed to treat another player by their IFF first and foremost, until you saw them commit a crime, etc. But even today, if using a generic independent ID, you can still use a Freelancer IFF, and expect to be treated as such, at least until someone gets close enough to scan your ID. ID's being oorp was too confusing though, no one got it, everyone mentioned ID once they saw it, the rule had to be changed just to avoid the other person going oorp by accident at almost every encounter.
