Earlier in cambridge a Phantom ship managed to infect the crew of an SSO battleship that was valiantly trying to defend cambridge from the combined attack of a Phantom cruiser, an ELF cruiser and an ELF bomber.
The ELF ships assisted in disabling the SSO battleship long enough for the nomads to board and infect the crew.
An SF battleship send to destroy the infected vessel failed and was destroyed, however the SSO battleship was damage so heavily that the nomad-infected crew decided to eject, though not before making sure that this incident would not be forgotten quickly.
The SF have yet to release a statement about this incident, however a complete quaratine of cambridge has been requested by liberty, rhienland and kusari, who faer that not quaratining the planet may result in the nomads spreading throughout the colonies.
The rhienland spokesman said:-
"We do not wish to see a repeat of what happened when our chancellor and military command staff were infected by the nomads and nearly caused an inter-house war, the sooner planet cambridge is quaratined the better."
The liberty president agreed with what the rheinland spokesman said and added
"The nomads are not to be underestimated, they are very careful and capable of practically anything."
***OOC***
If one of the SF command could post comments and responses to the quaratine demands and the incident, it'd help alot.
Any other faction leader who wishes to add a post with their factions stance on the quaratine and they're reaction to this may do so, BUT!
incoming crisis report
transmission from Captain Hyperwave of the SF
As of now, an official quarantine will not be put in place by Cambridge. However, it is very difficult to get on the planet itself. Planet Cambridge is only allowing those who are wearing extremely advanced life support and protective gear onto the planet. In addition, Cambridge has restricted access to all but those providing the relief. The press has already quoted Queen Karina on this Incident.
"We have decided that issuing a complete quarantine on the planet would result in severe problems. Those down there need medical help, and since many of the large cities were hit, the large hospitals are no longer functioning at full capacity. We believe that by restricting access and having requirements to enter the system and planet, we can save millions of people from death. It is expected that these restrictions will hopefully encourage humanitarian relief from the other houses."
Agencies from within Bretonia have already moved in to assess damage, and to help the current population there. Others received calls from Battleship Sierra that a crisis occurred in Cambridge, and they needed immediate assistance. Several organizations responded including a very unexpected response from Kusari. The Kusari Disaster Relief Organization - the largest in Sirius - has sent out 15 relief ships for Cambridge. They are expected to arrive within the week with food, medical supplies, ice, and ships loaded with police officers to prevent looting, firefighters and first responders to keep the city together, and hopefully alive.
Bretonia itself has already sent out three extremely advanced medical ships which will serve as the highest standard of medical and trauma care off planet-side. It is expected that many will die, but with medical ships from Bretonia and other houses, many can survive their injuries. All medical personnel deployed planet-side and on the ships will be required to wear protective gear in order to avoid any strains of any disease, virus, infection, etc.
Firefighters are on the planet now, and are attempting to douse the flames created by the Nomad vessel. However, a strange substance prevents many of the fires to be doused, and other methods must be utilized. Cambridge is in a severe crisis state, with flooding, fires, gases, and other dangerous things. CRI is attempting to find a way to eliminate these, but due to the fact that many of the substances are new to humankind, it is difficult. Samples from the ship show, however, a way to do it, and all members of CRI are working on it.
Medical researchers are coming from all over to help combat these problems, and due to the same samples as mentioned above, it is thought that the Nomads has a very high standard of medical care. If CRI can get a hold of similar things like this, many worries may be over for billions throughout Sirius.
Until now, however, we must continue to make sure all can make it on Planet Cambridge. Those in the system and on the planet are not allowed to leave unless everything is quarantined, but this is expected to help save millions of people.
Right now, all Bretonia is asking for is major humanitarian relief, and potentially money to help this. They are also asking for research funds from the houses for CRI for the development of how to put out the flames, not just contain them, and for the development of lifesaving, drugs or medical techniques that can save the human race.
Any further development of the stories will be released later, but this is all that the SF can issue for now due to confidentiality issues in the fight against the Nomads.

Press Release ~ For immediate dissemination to all Media

To the Residents of Cambridge:
This is Malaclypse 666, Episkopos of the E.L.F.
We deeply regret the unfortunate incidents which occurred earlier today. The ELF does admit to engaging the Payne in concert with a Phantom craft. However, we had no idea that there were serious issues with the containment fields aboard the blue pancake.
We were devastated to learn of the infestation of the Payne, and of the subsequent actions of its Nomad-infested crew. We have no quarrel with the residents of Cambridge. We merely think their Armed Forces are arrogant poofs who need a sense of humor.
There was little humor this day. I have ordered all ELF vessels to immediately cease carrying Nomad lifeforms of all sorts. I have also arranged through business associates to make available further aid for the people of Cambridge.
However, as the infected vessel was neither of Bretonian nor of SF origin, we can not in all good conscience make reparations to the S.S.O. for their loss.
Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the people of Cambridge. We wish them a speedy recovery.

It was brilliant. The humans had advertised this one area so blatantly. Hundreds, nay, THOUSANDS of the filthy beings clustered around the entrance gate. Kalkrana was sure that he would go unnoticed in this crowd. That was why he almost despaired when he found out why the line was so slow; The hated Sirius Federation had constructed a scanner there and everyone went through one at a time.
Despite this, the Nomad pressed on. There was a chance they would miss him, or the scanner wouldn't work properly, and it was better then the certainty of them knowing should he walk away. Act human, hide, wait. That was the operation of the day. He just might make it through.
-
One SF sergeant was running a SiN Tech grunt through a crash course in operating the scanner. The operator had to know what to look for, had to be able to spot the small things that would give an injured person, a sick person, or most importantly an infected person away. The guy, at least the Sergeant thought it was a guy, seemed to pick up on how to operate it quickly. So when a scuffle broke out, the sergeant himself went to deal with it and left the grunt at the controls.
The line kept going, and at last the human host that carried Kalrana entered the looming tunnel. The grunt knew, Kalrana knew the grunt knew, and both knew there was an alarm that was supposed to go off.
Yet for some reason unfathomable to Kalrana, no sirens wailed, no lights flashed, and nobody stopped him save another grunt who jerked his thumb down the access way.
"Down the ramp until you get to the garage. Enter the lobby and follow the green stripe on the wall."
Kalrana did so, still pondering what had just happened. Why did the human let him go? What was the purpose? Did the human really not notice? Or did it simply not care?
The sergeant, after breaking up the little fistfight, walked back up to the operator.
"Anything."
"No sir." the grunt replied. "Nothing unexpected."
-
Kalrana was still pondering the humans actions when he turned down the corridor with the green stripe. He still pondered as the hallways became less and less crowded. At last the absence of people imposed itself upon the Nomads consciousness, and he looked about. It was still a hallway, and it was still empty. The stripe ran down the hall and ended at a door. If there had been a sign, Kalrana missed it.
Perhaps the other humans are told to go down different ways, to space them out. Yes, that seemed the likely reason. So, with no further qualms, Kalrana walked down the hall and entered the air-lock. It cycled, and the other door opened.
Time slowed down. Kalrana saw a human, one of the strange ones wearing an odd suit, staring right at him. In its hands was a weapon. A glowing, active, and deadly looking weapon. Milliseconds went by, and Kalrana saw the human had already triggered this weapon. Even if he were in his warrior form, Kalrana could do nothing but watch as the end of the weapon blossomed with blue-white energy, and a silvery stream of the same color crawled towards him.
It was pretty, Kalrana thought with a detached air. Maybe I won't feel anything and the weapon will be as merciful as it is pretty.
Nope. The weapon's beam finally hit him and pain blossomed throughout his hosts body, and thus him. So much pain, the host shut down, leaving Kalrana dazed with its remnants. That too was more then he could stand, and so both Nomad and host fell into the black of oblivion.
-
When Kalrana awoke next, he found himself looking into a very bright and harsh light. Next came the shock that he was no longer in his host, but strapped to a very cold metallic table. One of the oddly dressed humans appeared in his view.
"Well well, looks like you came around sooner then we thought."
The Nomad in question took a moment to give this human his equivalent of a glare before turning away to the other side. Only to be met with the dead face of his former host.
He was literally quite painfully dead. Red blood ran out of his mouth, and little red dots covered everything close-by, including the ceiling. The table was coated with it, and the blood that ran over dripped to the floor. A look around the dead host revealed the weapon used for this; a strange looking device, with a blocky end, a switch on top, and a serrated circular blade held between two prongs at one end. The whole thing was painted red, the blade especially so. A look at the previous host's face confirmed Kalrana's sinking suspicion that the human had been cut open, alive and awake.
An involuntary shudder ran through the bluish body. Kalrana could only imagine the fate these horrible humans had in reserve for him. One of the humans in question noticed that shiver.
"Dont worry, little Nomad. We arent going to cut you open... Yet." The grunts laughed and started to wheel the table out of the room. Kalrana could only speculate at what he was sure would be a fate worse then death.

Logan Conner made his way into a small bar on cambridge. A thumping music played in the background as he made his way to the bar tender.
"What will it be" asked the tender gruffly. I
"I'm not lookin' for a drink. "I need to talk to someone".
"Ok, who are you looking for" asked the bar tender"
"A man named Enoc Faal."
The tender laughed, "ya right he's a high up in the military. You can't just swagger your ass in here and expect to talk to him."
"This is important" insisted Conner.
" He comes here every so often but I a have not seen him in over three weeks" replied the bartender
An alarm interrupted the conversation and a news anchor appeared on the view-screen on the other side of the bar.
"This is the Galactic news network, recent reports of a battle above cambridge have been confirmed. According to our inside sources one Bertonian armed Forces Battleship has engaged an SSO battleship in a Low Planetary Orbit. It is advised at this time that citizens of cambridge take shelter until the crisis is over.
We will keep you up to date as the story develops..."
"DAMIT I'm, too late," thought Conner
Logan Conner ran out of the bar into a large plaza. Some citizens were running for shelter, others just simply looked up at the sky in horror. Several Large hull panels were no more than 12000 meters above their heads. Conner ran for his ship, and the panels stuck the ground. In a brilliant flash, Conner was blasted off his feet. Fire rained from the sky, the noise was beyond comprehension. Conner stood up unable to hear, choking on thick smoke and ran to his Manta....

The SF's fourth and most advanced medical ship has entered Cambridge as of 17:00 hours, Friday. This ship is expected to take on over 25 percent of the casualties over time throughout the Cambridge Crisis.
Cambridge Research Institute has developed drugs for the treatment of those in contact with the Nomad ship (citizens of Cambridge), and those who wish to be protected from the virus or, or significant other, based off the Nomad crash on Cambridge. ( :haha: pretty long sentence that's not a run-on  ) SFMF-Horizon, now orbiting Planet Cambridge, is open to donations. They are asking for donations of ice, pharmaceuticals, or anything else that might be able to help the Cambridge Crisis. The quarantine of Cambridge is expected to be lifted within 1-2 days after medical ships and hospitals can administer the drug to those infected.
