Hail fellow battle brothers and sisters! What a glorious day for the Imperium! Sadly, though, the Emperor was not smiling upon me three days ago... I was with my fellow brothers of the Dark Angels 5th company on the strike cruiser Just Wrath. We were going to reclaim Malta in the Omnicron Alpha sector and hopes were high. As we approached high orbit of the planet a great beam of pure energy and light erupted from the surface below. It clove our cruiser in two and it was every man for himself as we scrambled to get into the escape pods. I managed to escape and some of my other battle brothers did too, but those that could not were burned alive as fires and secondary explosions ripped what remained of Just Wrath to shreds. My heart had not ever felt such sorrow as my escape craft drifted off in no particular direction. A pilot by the name of Quintinus Verginix
was kind enough to pick me up. We became the best of friends and great comrades. Alas! Such things were not meant to last and he had to drop me off at Manhatten where I could begin my journey. Quintinus was so kind enough to loan me 8500 credits and an old starflier he had to get me on my way. My goal is clear: rejoin my lost brothers and destroy the heretic filth that brought destruction to my company.
wait a minute 'reclaim Malta' (?!?!) explain that if 'Omnicron Alpha' is a typo as I think it is...
If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God? - from 'Nightfall' by I.
