Not really a fan of kralotta hijacking the thread with a fairly simple premise that could be implemented easily and easily retired, reworked or retained once it's in for a bit.
There really isn't a need for so much off topic deliberation.

It's retired before it was implemented.
Everyone has ideas for discovery, few people actually want to put in the effort to make them happen.. If this is a good enough idea (Which I don't think it is) someone may want to have a shot at making it
Karlotta might post a lot but I think they might be right. Butchering aspects of the game and making things more complicated drastically reduces the amount of people who want to play as it favors the people with more time/experience
This is very much on topic - as a noob it's always better to have stuff to do with other people - thesystem should promote that.
The PvE plugin is actually genius - good profit, but you need to cooperate now because of cruiser rework to reach it
What happens is large PvE groups start forming, people cooperate and help each other, total newbies and vets alike - it's very easy for new guys to jump in on cheap bombers or a repair ship and be very useful and make good money while learning.
One thing in trading that was akin to this was the Orkney event
- normal sell point was for mediocre profit but the same base also had a freighter sell point where cooperation yielded a lot more money even above pob using ore hauling levels if you had someone to ferry.
There was no "don't have a friend or filled pob - can't do it at all" but "if you cooperate you get a lot more" just like in missions right now.
