Many of the improvements for cruisers were welcome and put much-needed love in the ship class. Kudos to the devs responsible.
However, there's now a problem, specifically with missions. Last night I did a random mission (lvl 36) with a medium BS. Got yeeted in 8 seconds by 3 Nomad cruisers.
I tried another mission in single-player with a dreadnought - same result. I just melted away.
Using Nightmares would probably increase survivability, but I don't enjoy the mechanics. Kind of boring.
IMO, if a player wants to farm BSes, they should expect to either use missiles and/or hunt in a group.
However, if one player is doing a mission vs. cruisers, he/she shouldn't have to use missiles and snipe from 6-7k in order to survive.
Are there plans for the BS class to address this problem?
They were done that way to be played in party with friends, tanking alone is not an option, you have to play smart in order to survive as you said with missiles && mortars, they are only strong with their 20 degree guns firing forward. Cruisers are still very easy to kill, but takes some time

We agree to disagree. Pre-patch solo missions (without using missiles) vs. cruisers were challenging but not impossible. This idea of having to join a group in order to survive a lvl 36 mission (with reduced pay) is bogus.
The BS shields need to be tweaked, or weapons, or both. Cruiser npcs on steroids is an immersion breaker.

Ironically enough, I last longer in my cruiser in such missions. Shield regens and a smaller silouette.
