Scuffle in House of Lords
NEW LONDON - The House of the Lords convened this morning to discuss yesterday's Gaian attack and assess additional foreign policy options regarding Gallia's refusal to pay reparations. A scuffle broke out amidst the session, which is a very rare occurrence in the House of Lords. The BBC has so far managed to obtain some details as to why this has happened.
It is reported that the prime minister suggested counseling with Liberty regarding the Gallic issue, but she was booed by a number of lords that are also members of the Royalist Party. The reason was, as we have been informed, that the prime minister was over-reliant on foreign help in their eyes, especially on Liberty's, which the Royalist Party saw as an injury of Bretonia's independence. A handful of lords that are members of the prime minister's Whig Party came to argue in favour of Prime Minister Hall, but it was noted that their number was surprisingly low in comparison to the party's actual membership, and as most lords remained uninvolved, order was restored.
Another heated argument erupted when yesterday's Gaian attack was addressed. As we wrote in our previous article, the asteroid that the Gaians planted in the middle of the trade lane between Battleship Norfolk and the Omega-3 Jump Gate, caused the loss of a Bowex passenger transport with all on board. For unknown reasons, Lord Lancaster, who is known to have ties with Bowex, blamed Lord Yorkington, father-in-law to a member of the Gateway board of directors, for alleged involvement. Lord Lancaster, a member of the Royalist Party, was then booed by a greater number of Whig lords. In his defence, Lord Yorkington blamed Lord Kirkwall, the only Green Party member of the House of Lords, who vehemently opposed and, greatly offended, attempted to leave the session. However, as a small group of lords and a lady blocked his way out, he pushed the lady aside, and that was when the scuffle began. In her defence, one of the lords whose name will also not be divulged, hit Lord Kirkwall in the face. Further violence was prevented as the lords that were nearby managed to separate them, but the session had to be closed and postponed for some other day.
Shortly following this event, the Green Party announced its withdrawal of support for the Whig cabinet, which the Whigs had ensured before with a bill that limited exploitation of Planet Carlisle. It remains to be seen whether this will have any notable consequences for the cabinet and for colonists on Carlisle. No members of the cabinet agreed to give us a comment.

I see that my Old Home is still a Mess when it comes to the House of Lords. The Members of the House should Remember that they Serve the People of Bretonia and that the House of Lords isn't the Place for ridiculous fights and petty feuds. Maybe we could have Safed Leeds and many of my Peapole if the House of Lords had Focuses on thier real Duties. But as it seems Bretonia is Doomed to Repeat the Past.
