Hello, Mac user building a PC for first time in over a decade.
hello all.
I am a M.S. Windows hater, however I am setting up a Windows specific gaming computer, but I am on a budget so I will be building using the AMD APU G5700G this has an on chip 8 gig Vega graphics. so I don't have to spend another thousand on a Video card.
I will keep you up to date on the build. most parts should be here this evening.
Putting hardware together is no biggie, but I will have questions for Dev's such as,
1. which would be better to load and play freelancer, windows 10 home or Windows 10 pro?
With your hardware there will be no difference, you can even run it from Linux, theoretically Mac (there was a successful attempt but online mode wasn't checked).
Thanks mate, I loaded WIn 10 home, and got everything up and going,
now How do I load my current account?
I searched and came up with nothing. maybe i searched wrong.

Do not forget to enable Legacy Components, DirectPlay in particular.
Yep, it was part of the video I followed.
I do have another question though,
I would like to run in windowed mode, there is a plugin from "http://adoxa.altervista.org/freelancer/" ( http://adoxa.altervista.org/freelancer/dl.php?f=jflpdll ) JFLP.DLL v1.25.
would it hurt anything to add this to my files?
In the client launcher there is a way to get it "Windowed" by not using Desktop Resolution and enabling Windowed mode ... don't need another plugin to do it ...

Yes, you do not need anything else because it can be done with the Discovery launcher.
BTW why are you using such a large PSU? With those components you do not need anything close to 850 watts. Only with a high end graphics card would you need such a large PSU. Large PSU's will not work efficiently with low power draws. I don't think that you need anything larger than a 550 watt PSU. I have a Seasonic 550 watt platinum PSU with a nVidia GTX 1660 graphics card and it never gets remotely close to the maximum even when it is all overclocked as far as it will go.
You could of saved yourself quite a lot by getting a smaller PSU IMO.
