The morning on New London was a cacophony of noises. Serving not only as the center of Bretonia, but also as one of the most important planets in the sector, the core of the Westminster City Megaloplis shook under the weight of Armed Forces. What once was the most devastated location on New London during the invasion, now had an unmatched parade, with thousands of troops, military vehicles passing throughout narrow and wide streets alike, fighter craft gliding through the atmosphere and even the ever-more-present capital ships in orbit - making it clear to all of the superiority of the Armed Forces, their Fleet Admiral, Arthur Spencer, and his most trusted advisors. What he had previously thought was impossible - becoming one of the most important people in his nation - had turned into reality. And he planned to not dissapoint, for he acted in the name of the people.
Comfortably sitting atop of one of the buildings belonging to the goverment, Spencer swep his eyes across the gathered masses, shaking with an almost indistinguishable combination of enthusiam and pride as he reached the megaphone beside him. He took a deep breath and with the thrust of a fist into the air, he began speaking.
"Soldiers and people of the Kingdom of Bretonia," he started with an ardent tone,"we stand once more at crossroads. Our allies have abandoned us, and our enemies grow stronger day by day. From this day onwards, let none of our people fight amongst themselves!"
He leaned back slightly and, after a brief pause, returned with an asserting voice to the public."Leeds, Dublin and even New London to this day contain the wrecks of our compatriots, all of whom perished in face of the Gallic onslaught. Nonetheless, in spite of all the powers plotting against us, Bretonia shall not fall. The time has come to strike back, to rise from the ashes of the wars brought upon us by foreign forces! The time has come to show the people of Sirius what Bretonia is truly capable of! We shall strike our enemies swiftly and without mercy, for they will tremble in fear and bow before us."Finishing the speech, he let out a slight smile and saluted the slowly-dissipating crowd, whilst the skies became clear of the fighters that took part in the parade.
It was a monumental achievement for him and his generals, a show of force that reinvigorated the souls of many. For Spencer, winning the support of the population was crucial for his plans of reclaiming glory.
With the public convinced of their honorable intentions, they returned to the Armed Forces headquarters on the capital. There was much to be done if they had any hope of succeeding.
