Comm ID: Korrd. From the Heimdall in Cardiff facility.
Message begins:
Two hours ago. I received a distress call from the HF battleship Balistner. As the HF are our allies, i could not disregard a distress call of theirs. SO i proceeded to the Gamma system at full speed.
After arriving there, i met the Balistner. A cruiser, the VultureOfDeath, was being pursued by a frigate, the AntArg, and a battleship, the RAFC Dreadnought. the Balistner and me set an ambush on the E4 sector, and waited.
We successfully ambushed the battleship with a force of two ships. The vulture went from being the prey, to being with the hunters now. Imagine the surprise of her captain when he discovered that he was drawn to an ambush. He quickly ran to meet with his reinforcements, the frigate AntArg. Of course, a fight ensued.
After we quickly dispatched the Dreadnought, we begun the pursuit of the AntArg. She was badly outnumbered. So the only thing her captain could do was to hit cruise.
I have to say that the Train CD were of terrible quality. No one of the Disruptors the HF ships fired hit the target.
We got him on the Omega 41 system. A battle took place. The ship took heavy damage after a few minutes of combat. She was no match for the combined strength of the AW and the HF.
After taking a hard beating, She managed to escape through the Omega 47 JH. I realized he was heading to Cambridge, so I broke pursue and headed there. After a not too long wait, he showed up on sensors. the rest of the HF fleet was delayed on the asteroid field, so there was only me to fight the Frigate and delay it until reinforcements could reach my position.
I engaged him and successfully delayed him until the rest of the fleet arrived.
He then went to cruise and headed to the Salisbury system. Hoping for the BAF guard to help him against us.
The HF fleet was lagging behind me (read, asteroids + battleships). But as I was on a bomber, I had no such problem. I arrived Salisbury and engaged him on a 10 v 1, until a missile of the frigate killed one of the BAF ships.
The vulture of death had technical difficulties and had to withdrawn from the battle before reaching Salisbury (read, time to dinner).
After 10 minutes (which seemed like an eternity), the Balistner arrived. But the HF vessel had some problems. It seems that her engines failed, and had to abort pursuit (Read, dinner is ready, gtg).
I was alone in the void of space. Fighting a powerful force... Just me, versus a frigate, and many fighters... It was then, when the frigate, taking advantage of the situation I was in, flew away. By the time I realized that, the enemy ship was already gone to Cambridge again. I broke the engagement with the Guard fighters, and headed there. But at the time of my arrival, the frigate was gone... My LR sensors took some damage from the fight (and the radiation) so I was unable to pinpoint his location.
I then aborted the pursue. With my ship damaged and out of ammo. It wasn't a good idea to hunt him through all of Sirius. The hunt for the red AntArg would had to wait.
I got a signal from a near tradelane ring, and set course. I ended up in Cardiff.
The IMG guys were nice enough to repair my ship for a little sum of money (read, i had to pay those greedy bas**rds like 2mill creds for repairs, and 3 mill more to restock my ammo).
And that was the end of another day at the office.
I have to note that the RA will not be happy after I joined the HF on the pursuit. But the HF sent me a distress call, and the AW cannot reject a distress call from an ally in a hurry.
Curiously, a group of Bs| ship followed us during the first half of the hunt. I hailed their leader and he told me they were documenting the fight for their news service.. I think they took some damage from the mines and some lost shoots, but nothing serious I hope.
OOC: guys, if you took some footage and want to share it with the rest of us, feel free to post them nere. That goes also to every one who took pics of the fight.
I have to note too that, despite the many players and NPC that were on the system, there was not the slightest trace of lag. A hurray for wolf and the new server! :yahoo:
It was a fun fight. There was no hate among the parts. Everybody fought well... :)
