The difference in stats for the skyblast B and the reaver mk 2 is range, BHG weapons have a range 650m+ where as the GMG weapons have the standard range of 600m.
Plus photon weapons have always been better, the junkers photon cannons are way better then any of the liberty rogues or liberty house laser cannons of the same class.
Plus the energy usage means that you can only mount 2 or 3 (depending on the ship) with other weapons, mount more then that and your power gets drained in seconds.
First of all, beta 3 is likely to be released soon with most of current issues fixed. The beta will also contain new prison station in Alaska (to fix some problems with Mitchell).
Also, I intend to change forward gun setups - again. There will be 4 types of forward guns (Liberty Cruiser, Liberty Gunboat, Kusari and Rheinland gunboat), each of them being a gun of different level (7, 8, 9, 10). This should remove the problem of exchanging forward guns from one ship onto another. Surely, in theory fighters will be able to equip these cannons, but because of energy requirements they will be absolutely useless even for bombers.
This will also allow me to put those guns back for sale. Now, if you lose the cannon, you have to re-buy the ship to get it back.
And their energy usage will be back to normal.
What else? Well, different minor issues probably not worth mentioning... in general, the new version is quite stable and performs well serverside, which is not bad :)
Edit:
More changes.
Sabre power supply will be upgraded slightly (it was NOT downgraded before, but anyway);
Newly bought Titans and Werewolfs will have even better power supply than now - it was present in beta 2, but I forgot to mention it in readme. Only for newly bought ships, however, so you'll have to re-buy to feel the change.
Talon will get 6x10 slots, but on expense of maneuverability.
Transport molecular and positron shields will have same capacity as graviton.
I believe the Blood Dragon fighter is still somewhat underpowered compared to it's Chimaera counterpart, I haven't looked at the stats but it seems like the Chimaera is not only much stronger in the hull department, but also more agile. Could anyone confirm or deny this? In my opinion the Blood Dragon ships should be able to out-turn the Kusari Navy, but still have the hull disadvantage.
Igiss, thank you for considering our Talon discussion. A fair compromise I feel.
Apologies for the Sabre, must be my current loadout's increase in usage.
The L-train versus Container Transport debate hinges on the weapons and armour advantages
for the C/T against the Train, which I think should maintain its current hold size increase
to balance them out.
The Skyblast Bs were not the most powerful of the stock class 9s available either, there
is another beauty out there ... Ah well, time to trade in possibly.
The rest of the mod has yet to have a good exploration, though no obvious big bugs so far.
Fine work as usual.

I want to bring something into question about the Skyblast b and BHG reaver. IF you look on the info card stats of the gun, it sas BHG guns sacrifice damage for range. To compare SKyblast b you need find a gun that is not changed by things like that. MOst of the NPC factions dont have modifiers for their guns so compare it to them.
Skyblast B is still 40% more powerful than Reaver, and difference in range is no more than 10-15% (or less). I suppose you do understand that damage is much more important than range. 20% of range increase will make using the weapon more simple and convenient, but 20% of damage increase might spoil the balance.

Small hint on what it is, maybe? PM if don't want to post.
Someone should help me on an issue that Korrd pointed out some time ago in MSN conversation. In all (or some) of systems made by Angel - these are, Newcastle, Omegas 15, 47 and 49, and Munich - there are too many particles in nebulas that cause graphic lags even on relatively powerful graphic cards.
