Stepping down...

Effecitve immediately, I am stepping down as one of the four main admins.

Why you might ask? Simple:

I'm fed up. I'm seriously sick and tired of being the one that gets bitchslapped for every little thing. This recent crap with DO and Dab (in a private message) is enough.

One thing that has TRUELY bugged me through all this is the apparent lack of respect for the fact I have far more important things to deal with in life than spending 10 min administrating a server, let alone putting up with this sh*t.

When someone gives me a screenie of F1'ing, then fine I ban them. However Dab in all his wisdom decides to bring up shadow again. I was under the impression one of the other admins was gonna deal with it as at the time I was in a REALLY bad position in my life at the time to even deal with it But no... I get bitchslapped for that.

Someone screems "Admin abuse" at Angel. I test the theory out and don't find any evidence to support it. No Screenies. No nothing. All i did was load my Osiris out like she had hers according to IFSO, and couldn't find anything to support the theory. There is no Admin power plant. never was.

Someone screams "cheater" with modded ships, yet again, I have to test the theory out as we have absolutely no way of checking for it. None whatsoever. I get a movie, but it's inconclusive as i had a few members watch it and they all say they can do this in an unmodded ship.

Now if people want a ban, we don't take it lightly. We *WILL* conduct our own investigation, and if it doesn't match what you say, then tough luck. We may come to our own conclusions. That's the wonderful thing about Opinions. Everyone has em.

Admins do NOT have all the time in the world to sit in front of a computer and game all day and night like some of you apparently do. I find it disrespectful not to mention VERY insulting that some people would go so far as say I'm not doing my job just cause my real life.. a life that is far more important than ANY of this.. is interfering with my admin duties. It's even more disrepectful to use it as a personal attack against other admins.

You people want to continue this? Fine. You know who you are, and you know where I stand. I will NEVER do this for any gaming group again. Once again, I get screwed over for just trying to be the nice guy.

I will continue to host the server until igiss sees fit to remove it from me. I will be glad to ship the hardware to whomever ends up hosting it should that come down to it, or i will reimburse those who donated.

Those of you who have contributed to this.. I hope you're happy with this now. I won't be on as an admin EVER again.

I don't want to be pestered as an admin again. It is no longer worth my time. I no longer have the paitence, desire to do so. Thank you. Thank you for making me feel like I wasted a year and half helping this community.

I will gladly host the server If no one else want too. Besides for me needing a little bit better internet connection thats all and then i can host it. but only if no one else wants too. I am already busy enought with Hellsbattlefield. and Bs|

Well I am thankful for the time you have put into Discovery I understand and respect the fact you do have life to get back to Freelancer should not be the most important thing in the world and if it is to someone they obvisouly have issues. And as for Dab constantly getting after wolf for the same over and over again maybe it wasn't such a good idea to ruin someone's recreational time to that extent huh Dab? I personally wish you would change your mind Wolf you are a good admin but it is your descision I and everyone esle here should respect it.

Unfortunately, guys.. there is a LOT more at stake here, than just my own sanity.

Whatever happens at home and online affects my ability to make uniformed decisions as well as my ability to teach Taekwondo.

Most you don't know, but I am a full time Taekwondo Insturctor for a small club about 40 miles from where I live. I teach those classes once a week, and teach the rest of the week at the local school under my instructor as an assistant.

Now if I get pissed off, depressed or whatever.. any negative train of thought or mental state affects my teaching capabilities.. and my students suffer. That is not something that is acceptable, let alone something I can risk too much.

My students are the lifeline of the school, and they are literally my paycheck. I lose students, I lose money.

See my point here? All this bull is just serving to push me deeper and deeper into the wrong state of mind and I am not gonna go down that road. I Do not want to become the instructor that will snap at my students. I am not that man.

Why bother if others bitchslap you? Just ignore them.
I got bitchslaped a few time too. But I didn't care. Is as simple as it's just a game. If the other does not like the way I handle things, then he can go to another place. Is as simple as that.

Take it easy. No need to get annoyed because some elements on discovery dislike the way you do things. That happens everywhere. Just ignore them, or go heavy handed. That's what I do when somebody defies the way I do things. If im wrong, then i apologize, if not I try to go with reason. If the crap continue after that, lets just say that you don't want to be in the "front of my guns".

From my perspective you have done a wonderful job as a server Admin. And i would hate seeing you to go just for this trivial problem.

But as dboy said, if you have another reason than just the bitching of other members, then ignore what I just wrote.


@The hardcore players that thinks that there is not life after FL:
People, FL is just a game. There is something more important called REAL LIFE. No admin will sacrifice his live to get you happy about how things are handled.

And I know that some of those people are willing to get the job of an Admin here. Well, that will not happen as long as I'm Admin here. Putting a super fanatic ultra hard core gamer as an Admin is a bad thing to do because they tend to take it personally. And that causes bias, IMHO.

yea...i know some ppl that think freelancer is life. its just a game. i go to college full time, try to work part time, and then relax at night by playing freelancer. if something happens, and i need more time, guess which one is the first to go: freelancer.
