The Acquisition is the product of collusion between several prominent Outcast Dons and their respective plantations and families, focused mainly on profit and the distribution of Cardamine throughout the Sirius sector. The families of the merger did not want to get roped into the political games of Malta's upper elite and banded together to avoid being consolidated. The merger allows the families to obtain significant market power, and pool their resources and technology to increase profits more efficiently.
While many among the Outcasts view the slaves that enter Malta's fields as lesser people fit only for manual labor, the Acquisition views them as an invaluable source of manpower. The Acquisition's economic power entitles it to a significant share of the slave market, and integrates them more deeply into its operations. The Acquisition is made up of many indentured servants, with a rare few that have expertise useful to business operations. The vast majority are pilots and transport captains, promised freedom and wealth in exchange for loyal service, although, given the insurmountable debt that the Acquisition imposes on its slaves, it would may take more than a lifetime to repay. In spite of this, most key positions are always filled by Maltese businessmen or the descendants of the Dons that own the various plantations.
The Acquisition does not view the Maltese Nation's vassals favorably, believing the Rogues to be incompetent, and the likes of Lane Hackers and Golden Chrysanthemums to be too disloyal and free-thinking to be trusted in the long term. This motivates them to train and indoctrinate their own slaves to be part of essential space operations for the flow of Cardamine. Thus, allowing the Acquisition to take a more direct approach with their Cardamine exports, utilizing their own equipment and manpower to more efficiently deal with any problems that arise, rather than waiting for their vassals to do the work.

DIPLOMACY
Golden Chrysanthemums- Kusarian rebels who are fond of Cardamine and have become highly dependent on it. Much of the Outcast community is closely acquainted with these Kusarians and openly works with them. We believe them to be untrustworthy, but should the need arise they can be useful.
The Liberty Rogues- Merely common criminals based out of Liberty. Closely tied to the Cardamine trade in Liberty, but their unreliability and frequent problems with the Liberty Police have proven to be their downfall.
The Lane Hackers - Information brokers who are willing to trade information for Cardamine. They may have their own agenda behind the scenes.
The Core - Previously a group of Bounty Hunters who made a name for themselves in the Omicrons. Seen as nothing more than a business partner for the foreseeable future. Help when you can, but don't risk your lives to save them.
The Order - The so-called saviors of humanity, and hated enemies of the Core. Leave them to their own devices, unless it would benefit us to be rid of them to expand dealings with the Core.
Junkers - Scrap peddlers with easy access to the legal markets. Good for spreading Cardamine to places we can't reach, but keep them at arms length.
The Coalition - A surprisingly well-organized military group found mainly in the Omegas. Unlikely that our paths will cross, they have been seen in the Taus and Omicrons thus far. Ignore them unless they try and stop you.
The Independent Miners Guild - Unified miners that have been a problem since the beginning. Take what you can from them and kill the rest. Nothing more than an obstacle to profits.
Crayter Republic - A small military nation within the Taus and a constant nuisance for us. Works closely with the IMG and will be treated all the same.
Corsairs - Mortal enemies. Need we say more?
House Militaries/Police - The cost of doing business.
Nomads - Aliens who found themselves in our home. Have been known to be hostile on multiple occasions. Avoid if possible,
