Earlier this week it was fine, then randomly on Friday, this lag started popping up. It makes the game unplayable for me. Normally I get lag spikes on the lag counter, but not an obnoxious amount of loss and fluct.
I've tried restarting my pc/modem several times. Killed other applications, and consulted with other players - nothing seems to be working. I'm just wondering if anyone else is being affected by this in a similar way or if it's just a "me" situation.
Same thing happened tonight at the battlefield in Zeta. Nomads were Yo-yoing all over the place. Cruised away and kept taking damage even after I left.
Try setting CPU affinity to only 1 CPU core through Task Manager. Keep in mind that each time you undock from a base it seems to try and reset it to all cores from what I remember.

setting it to only 1 CPU made it worse. I set it back to all and it dropped. fluct around 6 with 140 ping as opposed to the usual 120.
It's interesting because on the server list and on CMT it shows ping at 120, but the second I log in it lags.
EDIT: I have also played other games on PC to see if this persists, it does not. Checked in with Fab looks like its server side issue.

Funny. I (used to) have an issue where not using only 1 CPU guarantees that I have fluct and loss if there is any other player around chatting or shooting. Guess it's a different issue then.
I have found that the longer we go since the last restart the worse the connection can be. A high amount of people on the server doing missions also can drive up lag/latency. My lag spikes around certain NPC spawns too, like those battlezones. Other than that, simply hitting the 50-60 player count makes logging harder for me. I also get this weird thing where my ping drops nice and low but then it kicks me at first login attempt.

yesterday a group of 5 players tried a battlezone then awfully repelled from continuing the game, because of the excessive sudden lag... and everybody noticed that it showed only after the restart... so I suggested to them to fly away from the battlezone and check their pings, and they found out that the closer to the battlezone, the bigger the lag until they reach there and can't properly shoot or aim
