Kusari Imperial Delegation Arrives On New London
NEW LONDON -Following a failure by top diplomats of the Kingdom to secure a better agreement with the Republic of Liberty over the remainder of the debt and the Treaty of Harris, the Crown has extended an invitation to the Imperial House of Kusari for opening negotiations for what officials regard as a 'security agreement to safeguard Bretonia'. While so far unclear as to which region the pact will be focusing on, the delegation has already made its way to the Bretonian capital, met upon arrival by the Admiral of the Royal Navy, the Prime Minister, and other diplomatic staff.
Kusari - A tour of the House's history -Bretonia's Northern neighbors have had a turbulent past -- from being nearly conquered by Rheinland in the Nomad Wars, to the invasion of Leeds, followed closely by the instauration of the puppet-regime led by the Republicans, and into the civil war that culminated with the Emperor returning to power.
What has decades ago been characterized as a society heavily focused on their military traditions and past has evolved into a unique nation-state seeking to expand its influence abroad both with economic and military means, as evidenced by the invasion of Gallia years prior.
What does the meeting bring for Bretonia? -As details about the size of the coming pact have not been revealed thus far, the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, Yasmin Kaur, has specified that the Kingdom is also interested in increasing trade with the Empire of Kusari through the dangerous Tau sector, bringing up the importance of focusing efforts to rebuild the LD-14 facility to help the struggling economy recover.
Whilst Kusari has recently abandoned Tau-53, both Houses turned to the 'highway of the Taus' -- the Tau-31 system. With Crayter now also back in control of Barra Anchorage, the majority of the patrols in the systems are done by the Royal Navy, with only a token amount of ships belonging to the Naval Forces of Kusari taking part in joint patrols across the trade lane junctions.
The meeting also focuses on the newly-established Tau-23 connection, one that has become a headache for both Bretonia and Kusari due to Gallia's recent efforts to firmly install their presence within the Western regions of the system, and, more notably, the Nomad presence nearby, in the Orkney system.
How does this affect relations with Liberty? -Despite not being directly related to the Kusari affairs, the ambassador on Manhattan failed to achieve a promised change to the Treaty of Harris and has been unable to find common grounds with senior Liberty officials over the remainder of the war debt owed by Bretonia. Relations further soured due to an apparent 'incident' with Liberty diplomats whom had deemed the Glassing of Leeds with 'disrespect' and have 'insulted the deaths of thousands of Bretonians and Liberty citizens whom had fought against Gallia's barbaric invasion'.
Both nations' corporations have been hesitant to establish new contracts during the talks, but have restarted efforts to maintain trade and commerce through the Independent Worlds in a bid for more monetary gain, as Liberty's invasion of Vespucci enters its 5th month and takes a toll on the Republic's economy, additionally strained by an apparent revolt in the Pennsylvania system. Still, relations are expected to return to normal within the coming months, but nevertheless to a level still below the one preceding the invasion of Vespucci, which has caused a significant split between the two partners.

I hope this Kusarians are better, make them stay away from our Queen though: She's mine and only mine!!!!
"News" like these only serve to distract us from what really matters - the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. I don't care if the bloody Kusari emperor came to ring my door bell, I just want my paycheck that's already two months late! There is no crisis with Liberty, it was all fabricated by our and Libertonian politicians that sat together and laughed at us for being so gullible. They just need an excuse to raise prices. Wake up!
