Greetings to the Gallia Government, my name is Doctor Sailas Montgomery, CEO and Lead Researcher of Starlight Research Consortium. You can read much of what we are about at the following neural net link if you have as of yet not heard of us.
I'm writing you today because we've come across a wrecked Gallic Liner (I believe you call them "Lucullus" class?) wrecked in the Tau-23 system during one of our research sorties and have since towed it back to our research facility in system. We've heard many great things about these Liners and would like to procure a license to fly said vessel for research purposes only. The ship will have no weapons mounted on her hull save for perhaps a single Pulse Cannon to test the Baxter Anomalies in system.
Are you able to give us some details on what procedures will need to be completed in order to utilize this vessel for our research? We are more than willing to work with your government to complete any necessary paperwork, licenses, or training that might or will be required to operate the Liner. Additionally, are you aware of any parts or repair manuals that our engineers would need to repair the ship to a level to which it could fly under it's own power? We will be able to procure the necessary bulkheads and hull panels to repair the ship from some of our contacts, but many of the internal systems have been damaged beyond what a normal drydock maintenance team would be able to fix.
We look forward to your response.

Monsieur Sailas,
My name is Lucille Gervais and I am a representative of the Gallic Union Licensing & Permittance Office.
Your request for recognition this Lucullus-class liner as Legitimate Salvage has been processed, and we can proceed according to current procedures.
The first and most basic point will be bringing the ship to the Haute-Seine, a civilian shipyard in Picardy system, where our engineering teams will determine it's original designation, purpose in the Taus, logs detailing how it met it's end and crew manifesto to let the family have closure. The ship will remain within the Heute-Seine's drydocks until a full engineering examination is finished, to decide if the ship is beyond repair or not. Assuming it's in an acceptable state, SLRC will need to provide funds covering costs of training the new crew, as well as a token processing fee for the whole procedure, which will total 10 million francs, to be wired to Gallic.Union-Bank account.
Afterwards, you will have a choice of leaving the ship within our Shipyard, bring materials and provide additional funding to cover the costs of labour (depending on the extent of damage) to have the ship repaired on the spot, or take it elsewhere to conduct repairs on your own, whichever is preferred.
Should you find the above conditions agreeable, please contact us once the ship is brought to the Shipyard.
PS: On a personal note, I can't help but advise against having no means to defend one's ship, as it's the quickest way for the ship to go straight back to the 'Salvage' status.

Greetings Ms. Gervais. Unfortunately, we have some bad news concerning this subject.
The ship appears to have disappeared whilst in route to its destination. When we sent our security team to investigate as to why we hadn't heard anything back from her crew, we discovered that the vessel had been torn apart by the gravimetric distortions present near the Languedoc Jump Gate. Luckily, we suffered no fatalities from this incident. We had our engineers re-review the scans we took of the vessel before it's voyage and discovered red lines running throughout it's superstructure which could explain why the ship was destroyed enroute.
I have instructed our security team to recover the Black Box from the wreckage and deliver it to you posthaste so that you might be able to, as you say, "allow the families to have closure" concerning the ships original providence. Our team should be enroute within the next two to three hours.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns and we would be glad to assist.
Additionally, we would like to inquire as to purchasing one of these vessels in the future for research purposes. Please elaborate as to what hurdles we might have to deal with in obtaining one of them for such a purpose.

Monsieur Sailas,
Merci for informing us about the situation. I have received confirmation that Heute-Seine has received the blackbox, and that it's contents are being reviewed as I record this message.
As for the way to acquire a new vessel of Lucullus class, our Government does not deal with ship dealership, but You are more than welcome to contact either of the 'Big Three' corporations within Gallia: IDF Shipping, Gallic Metal Services or EFL Oil and Machinery.
