I know many people have different reasons why they preferred the older versions, but mine has to be the way that Disco was still an extension of the vanilla freelancer MP experience. It was not a platform.
Making characters was as difficult as in any other game and you had to find out yourself if going to the omicrons to make an outcast or a corsair was actually worth it. That was the whole discovering aspect of the mod.
Or when weapon dealers stockpiled armors, nukemine launchers and debilitators rather than just codes. Having to fly to Kappa for your gear if you did not have a guard rep was an adventure in of itself.

Time to remember the mod version that started Discovery off ''for realsies'' so to speak.
The date is a bit wonky, but 10-11th is close enough. I recently posted a video on my channel in the somewhat optimistic hope that some long-unseen members are still subscribed to it. Without too much planning and too much pomp, a simple get-together to see who is still around and to let peeps have an excuse to dip their toes into Disco again. I would humbly ask you to forward this info to any ancient skype chats you might be still in and see if we can bump the server pop over 100 one last time, maybe.
I did not plan for a specific time for this, no. Hopefully during server prime time, naturally.
