How does it make any sense for there to be lawful fabricators of equipment that uses Nomad Remains, yet the commodity is illegal in house space? It would be similar to marijuana being illegal yet bakeries that put marijuana in their products are legal. Can somebody think of a good reason for this law? If not, could laws be adjusted to remove Nomad Remains as illegal?
I just had a conversation with a friend about this very same subject and then I see this thread: https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthrea...pid2281979 I was not a participant of that report, and good on Sally for reporting this for LPI. But it is very strange that the law forbids the very commodity that most POBs that fabricate equipment holds anyway.

Those laws are not set in stone, it is very likely you can get a permit if you contact the government and make a good deal. Or contact a smuggler for another good deal.

you can apply for a license to move nomad materials in liberty, though at least for my part, i handwave cloaks and other POB equipment away because i really dont care to force people to pay money for generic equipment
if you have adapteds/hybrids/whatever actual nomad equipment, im coming for your wallet/soul

Issue is that developers thought it was good idea to do this, and during all these years no one figured out to add some substitute cargo that is legal.
Some houses have rather strict rules for even manufacturing cloaks. Restricted usage too.
Gallia: Technologies used for cloaking and forceful decloaking (e.g. cloaking devices or cloak disruptors of any type and kind) are restricted to Gallic law enforcement, Gallic corporations and license holders. Rheinland: §2.3.4. Cloaking Devices, Jump Drives and Hyperspace Survey Modules mounted on ships that do not belong to the Rheinland Armed Forces, Rheinland corporations or permitted individuals which are registered(add hyperlink to the registry here) in Extraordinary equipment registry.
§7.9.4. Construction of manufacturing facilities that produce cloaking devices, hyperspace jump drives or hyperspace survey modules is only permitted to Rheinland Corporations Kusari: Cloaking Devices (Kusari Law Enforcement vessels)
Do not construct the following factory modules without written permission: Hyperspace Survey Manufacturing Factory, Cloaking Device Factory, Jump Drive Factory.
