Crown Royalists Announce New Economic Plans
NEW LONDON -As spring kicks in, both Houses of government have been busy with intense debates about the economic state of the Realm. Following these talks, the Crown Royalists, facing criticism about inaction on foreign policy and with a growing opposition from the Liberal and SDF parties, have announced a '4 Year Plan' that will help revitalize the Bretonian economy and, utilizing both measures to increase trade and partnership with other Houses, but also a firm interest into launching autarkic policies to sustain the industrial sector after the loss of Leeds.
When will this economic plan be initiated and when will the changes come into effect? -Although no clear date has yet been set, the Crown Royalists have pointed that the economic plan may extend well beyond the planned 4 years, putting firm emphasis on the need to 'adapt to the changing situation abroad'. Furthermore, when asking by reporters about the coming measures, the officials have mentioned that they are 'too large to detail over the course of just one briefing' and insisted on the importance of continuing partnership with Kusari, but also Liberty-affiliated corporations, in matters of foreign policy and economy.
These statements, while not significant in present, signal a major shift by the party, whom had, until now, put little attention towards the economical revitalization of the Kingdom. It comes, however, both following the recent disagreements with the Republic of Liberty over Curacao, and after hardliners within the party have begun amassing more support for such measures.
Also mentioned was the subject of Sprague and the industrial sector, with Mrs. Isabella Middleton, spokesperson for the Crown Royalists, confirming that the coming economic plans are heavily revolving around finding a suitable replacement for the heavy industry sector that was previously the heart of Bretonia, now destroyed on Leeds. Eyeing Sprague, Mrs. Isabella also spoke of the Crown Royalists' commitment to continuing partnership with Rheinland, but outlined that the party will seek to increase the military and police presence within the Nottingham system as well as Cambridge, over the course of the coming years.
The BBC's standing estimates for the effects to be felt through Bretonian society stand currently at the late 830s, as such large and important reforms are hard to implement in the span of just several years worth of time.
What other changes do the Crown Royalists seek to bring about? -During today's press briefing, Mrs. Isabella also spoke of the Crown Royalists' great interest towards supporting the Green Party's policies, stating that 'past mistakes should not be repeated'. These comments come also at a time when the Green Party, now more powerful than ever, constitutes a barrier through which motions have to pass in the parliament, with some getting stalled due to their expected effects towards the planetary life and atmosphere.
The press conference was concluded by Mrs. Middleton by a long statement, in which she addressed the need for closer cooperation between the different political groups in Bretonia, and saying that drastic measures 'must be taken now' to prevent a catastrophe in the coming decades. She further went on to say that the Royalists have 'great plans' for political reform, and that the party is seeking to restart talks with 'anyone willing to work for the betterment of the Kingdom'. However, Mrs. Middleton also criticized the Liberal Party for recent discussions about the implementation of measures that would amend the economic welfare system put in place for workers, calling it an 'attempt at destabilizing Bretonia economically'.
The BBC will continue to present this story as it develops. Stay with us to find out more about the coming economic and social changes to the Kingdom.
