The Lone Star Scrappers were founded out of the ruins of the Beaumont Spire base in Texas. The Spire was formerly owned and operated by the Junker Marauders, a particularly vicious brand of Junkers operating out of Liberty. When a small group of Junkers took over the bases operation after the Marauders had moved on, the station was in a dire state of disrepair. The small group worked tirelessly to get the station back to an operational tempo, including creating refineries for the scrap that surrounded the station. Following the restoration of the Spire (and the Razor's Edge Pub), the group of Junkers realized that they had similar goals and decided to form an organization instead of going their separate ways. Thus, the Lone Star Scrappers was formed.
LSS is lead by a young woman known as Frostbyte to her inner circle. Before forming the Lone Star Scrappers, she organized and lead an unincorperated group of smugglers that regularly brought cargo to those in need whether they be through blockades, contraband, or both. She utilizes her skill in smuggling routes to aid her people in runs through space where certain cargo would be frowned upon or get you shot. Also, being raised as a Junker herself, she has skill in scrapping and engineering items with that respectable Junker charm.
While they are often only rumored to be smugglers outside of their scrapping business, piracy within the organization is rarely seen. While LSS are not above pirating those who have items they covet, they are not often seen doing so even outside of House space.
In addition to scrapping, smuggling, and the odd piracy run, the Scrappers are also known to restore vessels to patrons if requested, offering a good deal for those looking to restore a favored ship or found derelict in the many ship graveyards found throughout Sirius space.
Whether you're looking for scrap, station maintenance materials, Cardamine, or a restored ship, Lone Star Scrappers has it on offer. Reach out today!

Bases
The Lone Star Scrappers main base of operations is in Texas as Beaumont Spire, located near Beaumont Base and often functions as an overflow for the nearby Junker installation. Beaumont Spire is known for it's Scrap Refinery and Razor's Edge Pub that was recently restored by one of the LSS members.
They also have an additional base located in Bering named Seward Station, utilized as a fencing location for less than savory items bring brought near Liberty and often times run the rest of the way by the LSS smugglers daring to bring that cargo into house space. It also functions as an overflow for Beaumont Spire's Toxic Waste often generated along side their Basic Alloy production.
Roleplay resolving around "recovering" certain vessels will be utilized by Scrap or Military Salvage (pending announcement of Military Salvage changes):
Client requests recovery of a certain vessel. For the sake of argument, let's say this is a Pilgrim Liner.
For this ship, we would utilize a set amount of Scrap.
It is up to the client to retrieve the materials for the salvage process. An RP post can be done signifying that the "frame" has been "towed" to Texas or Bering (Beaumont Spire or Seward Station respectively) for assessment. (Example)
The calculations used for Scrap or Military Salvage are used by calculating the price of the ship divided by the maximum sale price for the scrap in question. I.E. Scrap (pre-5.0 patch) sells for roughly 4,300SC in New Berlin. So for a Pilgrim Liner we calculate: 190,000,000SC + 20% (Labor) = 228,000,000SC. We then divide this by 4,300 which comes to 53,023 which is rounded to the nearest whole number of 53,000.
This is also pending price changes related to 5.0 patch
This is then retrieved by the client and dropped off to Beaumont Spire or Seward Station with proof of the deliveries.
From there, we will purchase the ship out of pocket and have the ship docked at the station with 2,000,000SC on the ship for a rename. The IFF/ID is placed on the ship at the customers request.
Note: This must be within the confines of server and roleplay rules. No exceptions.
Different ships warrant different types of salvage (and different prices):
Civilian ships and some smaller ships require regular Scrap.
Higher end ships (such as transports, VHF's, Bombers) would still require Scrap.
The extreme end of the equation, such as capital ships and military vessels, require Military Salvage.
Military Salvage will be changing in the patch. The inclusion of this item is pending the 5.0 patch.
Additionally:
Clients can pay for the ship, they can do a combination of materials and credits, or just materials themselves. I'd advise doing the materials though just for the sake of RP, otherwise you're paying 20% more for a ship than just buying it yourself.
The 20% labor fee is just because we'll have to deliver the materials to their end destination to get our money back. This is also so that we make money.
If you want to do a combination of materials and credits, the value of the materials will be taken off the total price of the ship.
We will only take up materials up to the estimated value of the ship from our calculations. Any extra is kept by us for "services" rendered.
Caveats:
Military vessels need a "Writ of Permission" if being "salvaged" from anyone other than the military that it originally comes from. Meaning you can't be a Rogue wanting us to salvage a Rheinland VHF. It's the same as applying for a license from said government to fly their ship. Not only does this keep things within the realms of possibility, but it also prevents us from gaining the ire of a military state asking us why the hell we're restoring ships that are rightfully theirs and in turn selling them to criminals. Not a good look.
This also applies to any faction that's normally outside of your ability to fly. If there is a tech incompatibility, then likely you'll need to get a "Writ of Permission" from the respective faction before we move forward with any RP of restoring the vessel. Again, this is to keep us out of trouble, but also to keep the fact of you actually being able to own the ship within the realm of possibility.
Smelting Info
Beaumont Spire is the primary location for smelting Scrap into Basic Alloys. While some of the amount will be reserved for use by the Spire itself, others will be made available for purchase by those wishing to utilize the Spire's resources for their own bases. Seward Station will function as a smuggler outpost meant for contraband being brought into Liberty and Rheinland.
