From: Darian Wynne To: Lane Hackers Subject: Checking In
Hackers, Ms Freudenstein, anyone still listening,
How are you faring across the proverbial pond? Have the grass markets stabilized?
Allow me to personally apologise for going dark, we've been through some turbulent times the past three years. Know that your shipments were rather useful in helping supply our little preemptive uprising on Graves, them corrupt cavalier bastards didn't know what hit them. Every bomb, every gun, every bullet, it all goes a long way to see our dream of Final Liberation realised.
Times are changing and no doubt you've been through the wringer too, so how about we get business rolling again?
Hii hii~ Chloe Herrington here~ Not sure what Hacker circles you cool dudes had business with before, but me and some girlfriends recently set up shop in Ontario, got some Bisons and some frigates, doing some work, you know how it is!
We're, like, a skip and a hop away soooo if you need some tech gear or anything else we could "liberate" from the local corpo stinkers, just let us know! Better that stuff goes to you than some fence that just ends up dumping it back in Universal's warehouses again, right?
From: Darian Wynne To: 'Chloe~ ♡' Subject: Well met.
A pleasure to hear from you, Hacker.
I must admit, I thought I might've been barking in the wrong part of the 'net.
I am also curious, are your skills strictly within the confines of 'goods liberation'? I may have a request coming up that requires a little more brains, provided all goes well and if you'd be willing.
And these 'girlfriends' of yours, are they adverse to jump hole obstructions involving Crownies and 'Sairs?
The Cretans decided to move in.
We can provide payment in the form of Credits or Gold, however if there's something else you believe the Assembly could perhaps do for you in kind, then we are open to discussion.
I do not believe we had the pleasure; Fixer Goldfinger, Inner Circle. At your humble service, Mister Wynne.
The liberation of Dublin from the Bretonian Crown has been a spectacle to behold, a truly magnificient display of what a strong willed approach can achieve. The economic situation of the sector and especially Bretonia have become so very peculiar to analyse and pick apart since. If only you knew the magnitude of how the warped Gold market affects the very structure of Sirian goods traffic.
However, the encroachment of Corsairs on your newfound claims could become troublesome and we can only imagine the obstacles they and the desperate Bretonian Crown will try to place in your path. Let me see if we can lend you a hand, yes?
All you have to do is tell us what you really need, I am confident in my abilities to organize you virtually everything you could ask for.
Guns? Vessels? Spare parts? A conspiracy transcript on why Queen Carina is a Gallic spy? - I suppose you get my point.
Depending on your plans, I might even find myself on the way to Dublin. What a thrilling thought.
Not at all! A lot of the girls still prefer doing chair jockey type work, it is kinda where we got our start. So you need some opsec, a little bit of the old o-ffensive se-curity, hell even some R&D, we can work something out for sure for sure!
And don't worry about Crownies or 'Sairs, we may not have eyes in Bretonia like we do back home but we can take care of ourselves juuuuust fine~
For now we'd be happy to take some of that gold off your hands. Stuff sells for a pretty penny here, yknow? We have some bigger plans in store, but they need a lil' bit more time in the oven before we start shopping around for help.
From: Darian Wynne To: "Chloe~ ♡", Fixer Goldfinger Subject: Comms Net
Please accept my utmost apologies for the hour in which this reply finds you, Hackers.
Fixer Goldfinger, what a pleasure it is to hear from the Inner Circle, I do hope that Ms Freudenstein is faring well?
Pleasantries aside, the task at hand:
You should know that BIS elements had recently managed to infiltrate one of our Maguire Comms Net hubs on New London, again. While we were successful in protecting much of our Comms data and I can personally assure you this channel in question remains wholly secure, we had to take down the network for much needed maintenance and rerouting, hence the delay.
Whilst we pride ourselves in what Molly Engineering has achieved, even I would be the first to admit that it leaves much to be desired, given that we've little in the way of advanced materials to work with besides that which we salvage, even then, as magical as our techs' wizardry is they don't really know what they're doing, all improvisation and no foresight.
Much like most of the movement, the Maguire Comms Net is running on blood, tears and prayer. We need an upgrade, or at least some form of increased security as well as additional fall-back options and redundancies in case of future breach. A more efficient signal booster wouldn't go amiss either.
It's a tall order, but the RPA is prepared to utilise every resource at our disposal towards these goals, especially when it concerns the security of our business partners.
Interested? If so, let's work on the finer details. I'm open to ideas.
A network infrastructure upgrade, huh? You came knocking to the right people, my guy! You are right though, that kinda work is gonna take a lotta elbow grease. That and, y'know, optronics, quantum multiplexors, that kinda stuff. How you wanna source 'em, that's up to you, we got some strats but I'm sure you do too.
Either way we should do a little meetup! I'll bring some of the girls along, we'll check out your kit and then we can talk specifics. And if there's anything you're just dying to get your hands on right now we can hook you up, since we're doing the trip and everything.
It is once more a pleasure, Mr. Wynne. It is also a pleasure, my energetic affiliate.
Mr. Wynne, as the energetic young lady already lined out, we will either require ample staples of the correct materials and gadgets to fix your Maguire Comm Net or we will go down the path of an outright replacement option. Either way, an inspection on scene is necessary to determine the extent of overhauling required and whether a replacement might be the best option after all. In addition, I could not help but probe your network a bit and I do not consider this channel to be very secure. Judging on how they operate, the BIS had a good portion of luck when they breached your system the last time but a private meeting is considerably harder to spy on for anyone interested in keeping track of your operations, Molly.
I will arrange a few things and could be ready to take the trip to Arranmore Base within the next forty-eight hours if you agree. I got a contact who might be most useful, though I must warn you that regardless of the action we take, it is unlikely to be cheap.
On a side note; Do not let me wait more than forty-eight hours for your reply. Wasting my time is not a good idea at all.
From: Nora Rees Brennan, Mull Base To: Fixer Goldfinger, Chloe Subject: Securing the "Maguire"
Good evening, partners-to-be.
My name's Nora Rees Brennan, and, if you wish - I'm the collective voice of all the ingenuus lads over this side of the barrier, and responsible for the technical and management side of most Molly technical projects. That includes securing our communications for the present - and for the future. This means I'll allocate any and all necessary funding and material supplies required.
Fixer, if you insist on a personal meeting to manage all the arrangements - I'd prefer Halifax or Trafalgar for this conversation, but definitely can allocate some time to take a trip to Arranmore. A working visit there is due anyway.
