...and thinks about the past fights over the past years. His command skills have certainly improved, as crossing the Order itself isn't always the best idea. It was definitely worth it, though, to do that much damage to the enemy fleet. He and his men would once again receive commendations, bonuses and medals for their successful service to The Core, and he wasn't interested in that.
All he needed was to get his opponent, William Scott, killed. The Core ships prowling around in the midst of the past battle had found no hint that the Admiral of the Order's body was either in an escape pod or even in outer space.
Could it be that he had survived? Unlikely, so we can assume Jeremy won. Another achievement to his credit!
William Scott just woke up...
Losing consciousness is common for him in fighter battles, but not when he's standing on the bridge of a battleship watching an enemy fleet defeat him. Well, the injuries he suffered aren't critical, but the losses... Too many people died in this battle to make him question his skills.
However, it's not the first time he's lost people, and it's not the first time he's made mistakes. Looking at the ceiling of the medical room, he doesn't think about the state of his health, but rather what he needs to do to win. Thoughts swirl with emotions, causing him to go from rational to irrational. From the task of defeating his enemy to the task of getting revenge on Jeremy.
As one wise man said, "You learn from mistakes." And this fight was another of those mistakes, a step backwards to make two forwards. Well, William will recover the losses, prepare his squad better, draw conclusions and finally put a stop to this issue.
