A fine officer? We have records of you destroying fellow Naval officers because they wouldn't give you what you wanted, and in one case you turned your guns on him because you got in the way of one of his Supernova's in a dogfight and carked it. How you managed to get another ship for revenge so quickly, we'll never know.
As to the evidence, what I see is this: You decided that two Naval pilots and an LPI were not enough to take down the Xeno, so you ordered the Hunter to engage him. He did not. There is no problem with that, they are not under our durisdiction, and especially not under yours. A Hunter chooses whom he hunts, and in what odds. Some hunt for cash, others for the thrill. And I sure as hell can't think of any way Lutz could get a thrill out of those odds.

I'm less-than-thrilled with Mr. Young's track record, especially the part where he assaulted an LPI ship. In my opinion, he's a loose cannon that should be put down before he tries to take us down. As for that, Jepp Lutz is one of the LPI's best Hunters and I will not stand by for him or any of his crew to be incarcerated on my prisons. As such, if the Navy wants to 'arrest' someone, they can damn well do it with their own prisons.
Also, I believe that 'self defense' is always a valid argument against the quoted law. We cannot assume that the 'assault' is always undertaken by the other party.

Hello Again.
Shame you are a very illiterate officer.
Did you even read any of the reports you talk about or you rely on hearsay? and rumors?
My oh my how did you go so high in the chain of command.. Who did you bribe? Or worse... to get this position.
In both cases you are completely wrong.

Never happened, or not like you say it did.
You should review Malrone's File on that case which will show that I never fired on that Officer "Shade" Not before or after the incident, even that the "Officer" shade found it funny to see my vessel blow into pieces and me pod floating in cold space. YES I WILL REPEAT THE 5TH TIME I BELIEVE ALREADY [color=#99FF99](You wont let it trought the thick head of yours)[color=#FFFFFF]I NEVER FIRED ON THAT OFFICER... Yes NEVER..

Right.. how can i say it in a nicer way.. You should go and check your eyes.. The doctor might declare you totally blind.
I have never Ordered Him to open fire on the lone Xenox fighter, and the police didnt take part in that one as well.
So unless you can do your job, which is obviously a "NO"
You should go and work on your next promotion... You must know how to get them ... Maybe one day you will be the admiral and we all be doomed for your stupidity.

Quote:Assault, Attempted murder and/or Murder; Defined as the unlawful attacking of one individual or individuals by another individual or individuals with intent to Unsuccessfully/successfully damage or terminate said person or persons. Most commonly applied to one vessel attacking another with intend to cause harm. Penalty is death.
I would direct you to the word printed in bold.
The rule of law must be respected. Aside from the Legal Code, there are matters of proportionate response and self-defense to be taken into account.
Furthermore, in the absence of evidence to the contrary, Lutz et al's presumption of innocence must be respected. The crew of the Penetrator are innocent until proven guilty ... unless we are mistaken and this happened somewhere less respectful of the rights of its citizens than Liberty...
In the absence of any law that permits summary recruitment of any person as a marshall-at-law or any authorised declaration of a policy of conscription, it would appear that the claims of the witness are prima facie unfounded.

COMM ID: Admiral David Hale.
DESTINATION ID: All lawful forces, inc. the Guild.
SUBJECT: Mr Lutz.
I want all of the information that can be gathered about this incident on my desk, and I want it there now. Mr Lutz has rendered a damned fine service to me personally in the recent past, and I want to know what exactly has gone on.
Darkmoor, Young and Casero you are to report to my office this instant. I shall be arranging a meeting with with Mr Lutz, Mr Radford and whatever lawyers you choose to bring.
I want this mess cleared up. If Mr Lutz did indeed break the law, then he needs to be punished, if however there was some other mix up then perhaps a code of operating proceedure between Hunters and the Liberty lawful forces needs to be establish and made official. You must understand I can't have hunters in Liberty downing police and naval personel, however, since I know a little of the history of certain individuals I'm willing to take a little more interest in this one. I also can't have renegade Naval officers acting in a way completely unaccountable to the various bodies we answer to.
Young, if you insult another of my officers, I will have you removed from the Navy. Understood?

Clearly the witness is hot-tempered. We request that his service record be admitted as evidence for the defence.
No-one is suggesting he is a racist.
We have reason to believe that the arrest and subsequent detention was unlawful. Lutz et al were not read their rights when arrested. According to Brown vs. Liberty, any evidence presented which resulted from the unlawful arrest and detention is inadmissible.

Sir.
Thank you very Much for not Jumping to conclusions Like some here and willing to look at the evidence.. That will show that This time i was doing my job and nothing else.
There were a lot of Mix ups in the past, But since our little meeting And the agreement I was keeping my end of the deal.
COMM ID: Admiral David Hale
DESTINATION ID: Officer Joe Young, Bounty Hunter Comand, Liberty Naval personal, LPI Comand.
SUBJECT: The arrest of Mr Lutz.
Mr Young, I will be re-sending you a copy of the operating proceedures regarding the autonomy of the Bounty Hunter's Guild. They are individuals working off their own back, and the hunt as they wish, not as you order them to. We do not issue orders to bounty hunters. Clear? Furthermore, you do not declare people traitors without going through the correct avenues first. I will be talking to you more privately about a few things. You certainly do -not- attack hunters who choose not to assist you. That in itself is tantamount to attempted murder, and Mr Lutz was well within his legal right to defend himself. I will be explaining a few things to you about the law.
Casero: Your actions were perfectly withing our operating proceedure. From the information you had, you erred on the side of caution and arrested a man seemingly attacking naval forces. No further action required with regards to your part in this.
Mr Lutz: You are free to go.
Consider this a temporary measure for now. I will be gathering more information throughout the course of the investigation. I'm still not entirely clear as to a few details of the situation. I will be making an official statement once I have found a satisfactory conclusion.
