Topic: Brotherhood Proposal
DISCLOSURE: This message is a personal message from me to Elder Sephardi, although it may be viewed by other members of the Zoner Council. Please be aware that views expressed below represent only my opinion and not that of all the good folks at CoZ.
Elder Sephardi, in order for negotiations to take place, there must be proposals and counter-proposals. I don't know what Chairman Mal has told you, but our unanimous vote of "NO" was not a sign that we don't want to deal with the Brotherhood. All it means is that we desire to make a number of changes to your proposition. It's normal in negotiations for both sides to express what they want, so that we may come to a compromise.
Your nullification of Zoner humanitarian aid to Crete as a response to our desire for a compromise makes me frown. Why reject it at all? Freeport 15 is two minutes away from Crete while Hogosha and AFA transports will have to traverse the dangerous territories of the Houses, and then there’s the incredible distance they will have to make there and back. Not to mention that my own organization, the Zoners Consortium, has made numerous food donations (Free) to Crete on more than one occasion.
But that’s beside the point, as I still don't understand why you made former treaties between Zoners & Brotherhood null and void as a response to our desire for a counter-proposal. If you still wish to continue this discussion and listen to our side of things, please respond in this comms channel.

Message reads:
I have to concure with Mr. Lightwing. Then again Elder you know that because of our private communications. I just wanted to show my support in continued negoatiation publicly.
Mr. Lightwing, a large part of the reason that I came to the Zoner council on behalf of the Corsairs, is that the agreements that the Zoners and Corsairs have been working under for the past many years have been very good to the Zoners, and while they have allowed Corsairs to survive, have cost us a high premium. These agreements are no longer acceptable to the Corsairs. We will not be trapped by agreements that were made in a time when we had no other alternative than the Zoners as a source of food. The Brotherhood wishes to renegotiate these agreements so that instead of being a point of contention, they can be a point of mutual strength. While I do understand the reasons the CoZ members voted the way they did, and that your members are looking out for what they see as the good of the Zoners. In the same way, I am looking out for what I see as the well being of the Corsair nation. As it stands, my proposal was rejected without a solid offer of negotiations, and as such, I need to look for a better deal on food. The Corsairs are allied with the Hogosha and Farmers Alliance, the Hogosha being the exclusive supplier of artifacts to the Kusari market. We constantly have Hogosha and Corsair transports meeting for transfers, so the infrastructure for the shipments of food is already there, and if the Hogosha and Farmers are willing to give us a better deal for the shipments, what possible reason could you give me to not make a deal with them?
You say this vote was a sign that you wanted to continue negotiations? How in the name of the Suns was I supposed to know that? I have only received the vaguest of notions for continued negotiations. Negotiations take two to tango, I have reached out, but I dont see anyone on the other side reaching out. As I said, if I see that will on your side of the fence our relations will show that, but friendship is something that takes both sides desire to make it work, I have shown my desire, will you show yours?

Hola Senor Sephardi,
I made a comment in Council chambers to you. Please, take time to review it. To clarify what Mr. Lightwing was saying. The proposal was voted down AS WRITTEN. It doesn't mean we don't want to continue working on a compromise. I will be contacting you in the near future with an idea that if the Council grants approval, I have hopes for.
Respectfully,
Dr. John Henry Holliday

We shall see Doc, We at the Brotherhood will be going about our business, whether the Zoners give any sign that they wish to negotiate, that is up to you. We have taken a step toward the Zoners, if the Zoners value the relations it is time for you to take a step toward us.
