Earlier today, the body of an unindentified GMG pilot was found in the Storage room of the Freeport 18. ''The body was in a bloody mess; there was no identification on the man and not enough of his body parts were left so we could identify the man.'' said William DuGuay, Medical officer of the Freeport 18. ''The only reasons we believe he was a GMG pilot is because of his uniform, and a message left by his murderer. We do not know why the pilot was murdered, or for whom his murderer worked for, but it seems like we lack some of our apple pies from our stocks as well. One of our theories is that the man walked onto the murderer as he/she was stealing them and got rid so there would be no witness.'' he adds.
''This is a terrible event. We have contacted the GMG to know if they sent any pilots to visit us, as our flight records were erased by some sort of virus. We promise that this is the last time something like this happens. Security has been reinforced in the vicinity, and there is no reason why people should be afraid to visit the Freeport 18 now.'' said Commander Sebastien LaHoue, seemingly still disturbed.
Rumors claim that a terroristic group named the ''Phantoms'' could be at the origins of the murder, but there is no solid proof of it.
We just learned that Commander Sebastien LaHoue of the Freeport 18 halts his services for a short period of time due to a hack in the informatic system of the Freeport.
''It seems like a little brigand messed up with our computers and set us as Hostile to all of the population of the Sigmas except the GMG. We will attempt to repair this mishap as fast as we can, but this will require us to close our storage services for some time, and our No Fire Zone will not be enforced for all the duration of the process. On the brighter side, I have named a new person to be the head of the Freeport's security. His alias is classified as secret for now, but I will invite him to do an official declaration on this channel as soon as possible.'', commented Commander Sebastien LaHoue.
No other systems were reported to be damaged.
FREEPORT 18 ''MURDER'' WAS AN ACCIDENT
After thorough investigations, Zoner and GMG authorities concluded that the death of the pilot was accidental. ''The curious nature of GMG personel killed him; let's just say he really -had- to see what the red button does when you press it.', added one of the GMG inspector.' Indeed, fingerprints and blood of the alleged victim were found on a machine nearby that probably crushed him to death. ''The victim still lived long enough to limp away from it which confused the Zoner personal that found the body, who first suspected a murder because of a confusing transmission.''
The family requested the identity of the person to remain secret.
Earlier today, the Freeport 18 received a distress signal in Sigma-17. Since no one else was in the sector, Commander Sebastien LaHoue ordered his crew to search the sector. They found nothing but an escape pod, seemingly from a Freelancer transport. The people inside of it were all rushed to the Freeport's hospital, but only a 15 years old girl made it out alive.
''Her name is Marika Esteban and she claims that her parents were simply travelling from Kusari to Rheinland when their ship got halted by Corsairs pirates. Since they had no valuable goods on board, the Corsairs destroyed the ship and the family rushed to the escape pods. Luckily for the girl, we were nearby, or she wouldn't have made it out alive.'' commented William DuGuay, Medical officer of the Freeport 18.
Since the girl now is homeless and orphaned, she will be integrated into the Freeport 18's crew. The funerals of the family will be private and on invitation only, aboard the Freeport 18.
FREEPORT 18 SYSTEMS FIXED, SERVICE IS RUNNING ONCE AGAIN
After some days spent with GMG engineers and Zoner informaticians, the systems of the Freeport 18 are now fully operational. Traders and such are free to come and deal with the Freeport 18 once again.
''It wasn't as bad as some people claimed. Our security system isn't flawed, and such incidents won't happen in the future anymore.'', stated Mark Clovis, Chief Engineer of the Freeport 18.

FREEPORT 18 INSTALLATIONS SAVE HUNDREDS DURING INCREDIBLE STORMS
Ships are flocking to the Freeport 18 to no end, as it is the only safe heaven to many Hunters, Outcasts, Corsairs, GMG and other pilots to escape from the most powerful storm registered in Sirius in the last 20 years. The Freeport 18's docking bay quickly were filled by fighters, and all incoming pilots and crewmembers are forced to enter shuttles and leave their ships behind, bringing as many goods as they can with them. ''We are over-populated, and we didn't expect this many people to come. We had to separate each groups in different parts of the ship, and pay some Freelancers, Bounty Hunters GMG and Mercenaries as temporary security officers. Although, everyone brought everything they could and we have enough supplies to survive for months. We hear explosions all around of us, ships with weakest hulls already are blown to bits.'' commented Medical Officer William DuGuay.
For now, no tensions between the different groups were reported.
To calm down the population of the Freeport 18 during the storm, Commander Sebastien LaHoue ordered the early ouverture of the bar to the public. ''Well, all of our installations are used, so we might as well exploit some of them and make a credit or two, even in this crysis situation! It's not the end of the world, anyway! Our goal is to satisfy our costumers, and that's what we will achieve with this bar.'', commented Commander Sebastien LaHoue of the Freeport 18.
It is unknown if other luxury services will be publicly available soon.
A new first officer has been selected from outside of the station after the former first officer retired for personal reasons.
The new officer, Nathen Laymen, is a former delegate of the Council of Zoners, and a moderately well known figure among the zoners.
When interviewed about this appointment, he commented; "I'm glad that i've been given the chance to help maintain a freeport, and I intend to fill the role that the previous first officer has left vacent. I think I can do it just as well as it needs to be done, and I intend for it to get done."
The previous first officer could not be reached for comment.

Konnichi wa. So, a new Freeport arise in the Sigmas, that's good to know. I get this right, when asking you sell everything expect these illegal goods you mentioned?

POLITICS OF SEBASTIEN LAHOUE DOUBTED! A REAL ZONER OR A FRAUD?
Freeport 18 is victim of yet another scandal. Having bountied at first a Zoner for the destruction of his ship, he changed his initial offer into a bounty explicitly requesting the murder of a fellow Zoner.''We found it necessary to teach a lesson to this miss Tomoe. We thought the destruction of her vessel would deem fit as a consequence. Miss Tomoe, although, wanted to see Sebastien LaHoue dead. It simply was a measure of self defense to raise this bounty to such a high price. The actual security of the Freeport 18 isn't considered menaced, but security within the Freeport 18 was indeed raised.'', commented the Freeport 18's Press Relationist. We were unable to contact LaHoue himself to answer our questions. We promise you that we will watch this episode and bring you more news as they come.
