Quote:You say I'm powerhungry and did not take the Alliance's hand when it was offered.. And when was that Mr. Cross? When did the Alliance ever extend the hand of friendship or cooperation? In fact, I've been the one doing that towards them, not the other way around. I've encouraged them to give me feedback on the latest proposal I've made, and to participate in it as well, so that we can work together on issues that affect all of us. I have yet to hear back from them, after a week now.
I've tried several times to seal the rift that opened between the Council and the Alliance, but I have been rebuffed every time. The Alliance has made it very clear they are opposed to any cooperation with the Council of Zoners. Yev Lightwing is the only person who has treated me or the Council with any respect.
So. Since the Alliance was announced you have only asked feedback of us in the last couple of days? That truly is a sign of you cooperating with the Alliance soooooo much. Alliance leadership had requests of you when the Alliance first announced itself. However you didn't condone or recognize it. How you consider that cooperation is beyond me.
You never tried to seal the rift. You tried to force your ways upon us. Only recently have you asked for our advice on something. That I can only guess was done at the request of Izii, Ironfoot, and others as you made it clear you don't condone or recognize the Alliance.
Quote:So who, really, has caused the current rift between the Council and the Alliance?
Perhaps you should look to certain members of your Council. Ones who kept making messes out of negotiations. Ones who kept breaking our laws and making enemies for all Zoners. You know the reason OSI, TAZ, and ZTC left the CoZ. One of the reasons was so our people wouldn't be targeted by those that have a grudge against Council members that have no concern for others.
The fact that you dissolved the SHIZL, a group that was made up of Council members and the leaders of the factions shortly after they left shows that you widened the rift by breaking the final tie with them. The factions made no move to leave the SHIZL.
As for claiming some of us aren't Zoners because we aren't doing what you think is right. I remind you, some of us left House space because we got tired of doing what others thought to be right. I feel you are a corrupt leader Silvan. As such I will not move my index finger to save your life. Just as I would not move it to save the life of the House leadership that my parents left behind. As for the innocent that may die, their families will remember you Silvan. The person that could have saved their loved ones the easiest. They won't remember the Guards that failed to stop the bombs from tearing a hole in their home because the Guards cannot be everywhere at once. Do what you will. As Captain Izii has decided his course, I too have chosen mine. I will join him in the hunt if these mess results in the loss of Zoner life; but not until then. I have had my personal transports retrofitted as mobile field hospitals in order to aid Holliday if the time comes. As Izii, I too am tired of this political mess we got ourselves into. I will not however, work with someone I view as corrupt. Our ancestors didn't and I won't.
The ship's lights are dim, Izii Helfari looks tired and physically drained, hair a slight mess. He places his hands on the table before him as he looks up at the transmitter screen.
"It was at Omega-15, not too long ago we persued the Joker's signal, and he was waiting for us in a calm fashion. My crew of the Broken-Hammer, under my order, engaged the gunship he was within. We brought a hellish riot, as Corsair and Hessian vessels responded to our combat, engaging both of us as pandemonium ensued, Corsairs attacking my vessel, Hessians on the Joker's, all the while we exchanged gunfire for a stretch of time."

((Ignore the silly "yay" bit, please.))
He lifts his human hand to rake back his hair, a sigh escapes him as he closed his eyes.
"We eventually prevailed, and in the aftermath of the chaos, I sent out brief sweeper teams to find the Joker's escape pod, given the extensive damage we suffered, such was brief indeed. We had our engines mostly disabled and were unable to initiate cruise drive safely, and many of our key weapons were failing. Such was the battle. We're en-route to Livadia, for repairs and to submit an official report on both a success and failure, and utter failure."
He slams his steely fist into the table, leaving a modest indentation of it's knuckles.
"Fall apart like you all seem hellbent on having occur, refuse to work as a group to save lives, I'll not bear shame nor blood on my hands when there are so many who is sitting on the sideline. This is Zoner Guard, captain Helfari, signing off."
The screen goes dark.

My honest reaction upon reading the forums, whenever I rarely do. Joe Kucan, he's the man.
"We've lost visual message capability, repairs are still under on the 'Hammer after the fight, and in closing, I'll be no longer attending this frequency. Seems all any jaw-jacker wants to do is argue about who's wrong and right, and not about a bastard who's out to kill Zoners who've no stake in their politics. Good health to you all, once my ship's in shape, which is hopefully soon, we will be back to patrolling the Freeports for NFZ violators, and somesuch things that you all probably no longer concern yourselves with."

Well, there is zero point in trying to reason with this man. I offered him my entire fortune to stand down and find another way that doesn't involve the deaths of innocents; he refused.
If you all aren't aware by now. He plans to detonate explosives on two stations now. This a direct result of the attacks upon him by Silvan and Izii. He has also threatened to begin harassing any and all convoys flying under OSI, TAZ, or ZTC banners if we move against him; something most of us knew would happen if we moved against him.
I feel this will only further the rift between our people. Not much can be done now, only the ill informed think attacking this man and capturing him will prevent this. I believe his deadline is almost near, lets hope he was bluffing.

Though his strikes may have fallen upon the shoulders of the innocent to bear sacrifice, and now may have indeed made others step forward into takeing actions against him. Lets not forget that his actual target was Aurelia. Have we truely looked into the reasoning of this, or merely blown it to the side focusing merely on the acts of reprisal he had planned.
Surely it was a sad day to Zoners or really any other of the many factions within Sirius, as to the means one mad man can reciprocate his percieved justice towards the powers that may be. Though terrorism is the tool often for those with-out adequate force to overthrow a particular goverment or individual. It none the less had its reasoning. Was it valid or unjustly founded ? Those are the questions that bare thought. Was this individual acting alone in thought or merely the means of delivering their message and the eventual scapegoat for their drastic actions taken ?
Would have forming a posse and hunting this man really have stopped these acts of violence or merely the proxy ? See... this we dont know. There should be no finger pointing or whom did this, or didnt do that prior to the attacks because in reality it may have all just been in vain either way.
The importance is, when these acts came into being, whom responded to aide our fellow brethren and whom merely sat around watching the aftermath of the wakes of these attacks to unfold so they could run into their little white rooms and point out..see this..see that....
