[Beginning Transmission]
Greetings Colonials.
As you may know, apart from the primary Niobium mining operation in the Tau sector, the IMG has been interested, and is running mining operations in other locales, such as Dublin, and more notably, the mining for ship resources in the Omega sector. Competition from corporate entities in this region has caused a need for exploration ships to move out into more remote regions and begin prospecting for further mining fields.
Up until recently, the few Argus class ships we have had have been sufficient in providing as bases to run such operations. However, a major problem with the ship has been a lack of easily accessible hanger that provides shielding for the smaller ships that generally run the off ship operations. While in the Taus, the primary threat is outcasts, which can be fought off with some success, the environmental hazards in the Omegas are much less coherent, and harder to just fight off.
Also made difficult by this lack of loading bay is precision scanning and filtering, as it is nigh impossible to move even the smallest asteroids onboard for such operations. While it is possible to crush the large asteroids so that they can be filtered, this interrupts the process and due to the lack of mining ship, (they aren’t very efficient for such operations, due to much lighter armour and low fuel efficiency), it takes a huge amount of energy to preform such an operation without annihilating the traces of materials that can be found.
Now that we’ve explained the reason why such a large vessel is needed for what would be seen as an otherwise mundane reason, we’d like to discuss the conditions on which we’d be able to require a vessel and use it.
First up, we will begin on terms of operation and conditions on which we will use the ship. As one would guess, we would primarily be operating the ship within the Omega sectors, and would be relatively independent as Aland shipyard contains the facilities to maintain such a ship, but not construct one, as it is a, as far as we know, primarily a Colonial Remnant design, as the IMG doesn’t frequently require a vessel of such size. Secondly, due to the location of the Omega systems, we would have to travel through or very close to at least one house to reach it from your primary shipyard in Tau-44, and would be required to travel through there again if recalled by your forces for any reason.
As just previously mentioned, on the conditions of operation, we are willing to have the crew pilot the ship back to the Taus in any case where additional support from such a ship might be required by your forces. If you have any additional conditions that you would want us to agree to, we are willing for you to add it in your response to this transmission.
And secondly, we are going to discuss the resources and conditions on which we will construct such a ship. As you know, only the much larger industrial wing of the Remnant has the schematics and manpower to construct such a vessel, however, our division will be willing to provide any resources needed for the construction, and added to that would be a single Argus class that would be decommissioned so that the crew would be able to pilot the ship from Singapore shipyard. This would provide some resources; however, we can ship additional requirements to any of your bases.
Additionally, we are willing to pay for any additional labour for constructing and training for our crew to man the vessel. //Preferably none, but up to 200 million if you want, I’m not that rich.// And on the subject of crew, if any biographies of major members are required, we would like you to please ask, otherwise, we really don't feel too much of a need for such a thing.
If there any additional conditions, such as load outs or other matters pertaining to the ship that you require, please reply to the channel.
We’ll be cutting our transmission for now, as a burst from the Omega-41 neutron star is about to cause some static.
Respectfully yours
IMG Exploration Division 6

Essentially, what I’m asking is if I can purchase a Zephyr Class carrier, and I’m aware of the rarity what such a ship should be, so yeah, it makes a whole lot of sense to contact the =CR= about them building one first, so note, I’m not asking to buy a pre-existing one, I’m requesting that I be allowed to enter the with prior RP and fly to Singapore in a Argus to purchase one.//
This is the Colonial warship Rubicon calling the Independant Guild vessel. We are currently taking your message into consideration. Unfortunately i have no more for you at this time.
An independant miner... or at least claims to be...
I'll be calling the guildmaster whether they ever heard of this "IMG Omega exploration division 6" of yours...
I'll be blunt. Never seen you, your group or even heard of it. Untill your status and legitimacy is confirmed by the Guildmaster, you're about as metrial to me as vacuum.
I'm going to go ahead and throw in my 2 credits here...
Firstly, i think you may be confused with the design structure of the Zephyr Carrier.
It is designed as a warship, not a mining ship. It is not properly equipped for handling the large asteroids your apparently trying to mine from. In order to properly outfit it for these conditions, it would take a large amount of resources, and would be counter-productive, in my opinion.
Secondly, Maybe you haven't used the Hegemon design, but it is, by far, the most efficient ship for mining.
It can be outfitted to carry more advanced and accurate precision scanning and filtering equipment. Also, it has the capability, by extending its forward arms, to latch on to the larger asteroids you speak of and extract ore directly from those asteroids, as opposed to hauling in the large asteroids for processing on larger ships. The ship also has a large storage bay in the aft section of the ship for storing said valuable minerals. That, combined with the enhanced stabilization thrusters, makes this ship the most formidable ship for extracting ore.
In my experience, using this ship has proved to be greatly more efficient than using the resources it takes to haul individual large asteroids in to a processing plant, or processing ship.
Thirdly, if you are in need of military assistance while mining, I suggest you work on your reputation with the Colonial Remnants. They are always helping Civilian miners, like yourself, and even the IMG, drive off the outcasts. Just talk to them!
Fourth, if you still don't think the Hegemon is the ship your looking for, perhaps you could purchase a Barge. It is far less expensive than a Zephyr, and it has massive cargo space, and huge mooring and docking ports for supporting a fleet of mining vessels, and can be outfitted to process ore. In my opinion it would be far more efficient using a barge, than an outfitted carrier.
But, if you go against this advice I have provided for you, and you do purchase and outfit a Zephyr, I would ask that you do not portray yourself as a member of the Independent Miners Guild, as we do not approve of the use of carriers. We do not use them. Using a Carrier with IMG association could have repercussions for the Guild's reputation that are far to many to list here.
